Location
The 2nd arrondissement of Paris is historically one of Europe's financial centers, home to the former Palais de la Bourse, now called Palais Brogniart. Other important activities in the district are journalism and fashion (including Galeries Lafayette and Printemps, as well as a host of other boutiques on the boulevard!) The 2nd is also home to the famous Rue Sainte-Anne, known to Parisians as a haunt of Japanese restaurants and stores.
Typically Parisian shopping and art galleries, such as the Passage Choiseul or the Passage des Panoramas, add to the district's charm.
While the above are all daytime activities, the eastern end of the arrondissement, with its charming Rue Montorgueil, has an entirely different, more dynamic and youthful reputation thanks to its many cafés, restaurants and bars.
