Location
Located between Saint-Tropez and Le Lavandou, Cavalaire-sur-Mer is a charming seaside resort on the Mediterranean coast. Surrounded by Cap Cavalaire and Cap Lardier, this commune of the Var is built on an ancient Greek colony and owes its fame to its long sandy beach and various coves. The town also had its moment of glory during the Allied landings in Provence in 1944, when it was the scene of major American military operations.
Today, the town's main focus is tourism, with a certified nautical resort offering a wide range of activities for all ages. It also benefits from the attraction of nearby tourist towns such as Ramatuelle.
The gastronomy of Cavalaire-sur-Mer and the surrounding region also appeals to visiting tourists, with wines from the Var vineyards, honey, tapenade and the famous tarte tropézienne from the town next door.
