Location
Giberville is a commune in the Basse-Normandie region of the Calvados département. It benefits from an attractive location. Just a few minutes from Caen, the regional capital, and the sea, 2 hours from Paris by train and 45 minutes from Deauville by car!
Giberville is very proud of its "green lung", the Marais Grondin, around which you can enjoy pleasant strolls, and Amélie's educational farm offers a nature-oriented activity with ponies and farm animals. A communal gîte has been created on the site.
There are no historic monuments in Giberville, but the subsoil conceals numerous remains from the Merovingian period, some of which can be seen at the Musée de Normandie. Indeed, Giberville in 750 was called Gibertus after a great landowner of Merovingian origin.
Giberville is a quiet, flower-filled commune. Many of its inhabitants appreciate this little corner of serenity, despite its proximity to the regional capital Caen and the Mondeville 2 shopping center.
