Charming and very special holiday home, 10 metres from the waters of Lake Maggiore, on Isola Superiore Pescatori. This house consists of 3 delightful flats with a wonderful view of the lake. They are furnished with care and some period furniture is present. You can also explore the beautiful towns of Stresa, Arona, and Luino. The town center with its supermarkets and eateries is just 0.5 km away from this mansion.
Isola Superiore Pescatori is part of the archipelago of the Borromean Islands on Lake Maggiore and is the only one to be permanently inhabited. It is 350 metres long and 100 metres wide, home to a small village with characteristic multi-storey houses (with long balconies for drying fish), a small square, picturesque narrow alleys, the lakefront and the main street. The 50 inhabitants live from fishing and tourism. Inhabited for at least 700 years, it has a tree-lined belvedere, and you can find and buy local handicrafts in the small, quaint market. Some quaint restaurants offer delicious food, especially fish. There are small stretches of beach on both long sides of the island.
Cars are not allowed on the island and must be parked in public or private car parks (free or paid) in Stresa or Baveno. From there there are excellent connections by public boat service or taxiboats. The kind owner can also organise transfers to/from the island with a motorboat service, prices starting from only 10 Euro (service to be requested in advance).
The flat, simple but comfortable, is also a good location to see the environment with the islands of Lake Maggiore and the palaces, gardens, villas, riviera, villages, nature, etc. etc.
Although on a small island in the middle of the lake, guests will always have a connection to the world through an excellent INTERNET WIFI service.
