FridaysFlats Cozy and quiet flat by Sagrada Familia Name of property-Barcelone Sagrada Familia

Main Description:

Welcome to a FridaysFlats experience

This 2 bedroom flat consists of one room with a double bed and another one with two single beds plus a cozy living-room. Located super close to the Sagrada Familia, it generously hosts 4 people. A rare find for those who like peace and quiet, a treat for light sleepers and those who need rest between their travels.

The resting area consists of a master bedroom with a double bed, connected to a small balcony facing the interior court, the “patio de manzana” as the locals call it, side designed to be the most quiet part of any building, and a bedroom with two single beds.

The activities area include the traditional comfy sofa area, fitted with all the essential entertainment technology (TV, DVD, WiFi) and the dining area, where you can set a very nice table for 4 people to enjoy takeout, or even your own cooking (just make sure you don’t burn down the building).

The kitchen is fully equipped with all kinds of household goods such as: cutlery, crockery and washing machine and the bathroom is small but clean and has a shower.

We really do mean the part about this flat being quiet. Barcelona can be a bit overwhelming, there is so much vibrancy and effervescence, especially the parts around the center that have crucial landmarks such as Sagrada Familia, an epic UNESCO monument that gathers pilgrims and travelers from every corner of the world.

Just walking through the city can get you tired pretty easily. That’s why it’s so crucial to find accommodations that are both easily accessible AND comfortable when you need to hit the reset button (or the snooze). This works both ways, however - you are also expected to keep the noise levels to a minimum. Enjoy the silence!

Bed sizes:

Bedroom 1: 1 double bed 190x130cm
Bedroom 2: 2 single beds 190x90cm

There is only one AC unit in the living room.

Notes:

First of all, welcome to Barcelona. We’re happy to have you and we hope you have an amazing time staying in our flat. That being said, at the risk of being obvious, here are some basic ground rules:

Be mindful
We are not the police, nor do we want you to feel like we are patronizing, but we think it’s our duty to point out some common sense stuff, as we’ve had our experiences with not so well behaved guests in the past.
Respect the neighbours. Put yourself in their shoes, and keep the noise down to a minimum after 10PM. You are on holiday, but they’re probably stressed about their jobs and would appreciate a good night’s sleep. We want you to have fun, but be reasonable and don’t do unto others what you wouldn’t like done to you. Pissing them off is only going to get you into trouble, and surely you don’t need that while you’re on holiday.

No Parties!
We get it, you’re excited about being in Barcelona. But remember, the walls are thin and if you’re having a party, so are the neighbours. And maybe they’re not in the mood for that. Don’t start a fight you can’t possibly win, it’s their city and we want to respect that. Any guest that causes a disturbance will be asked to leave the apartment immediately (no refund at all to be granted). Sorry!
Also, watch out for slamming doors or hallways. Try to be quiet when entering the building, it’s not hard to be a good neighbour and we’re sure you can do it.
Also, it is not allowed to have more guests than you indicate during your reservation.

Keys & check-out
Don’t leave the keys in the mailbox. If you leave earlier than check out time, please leave the keys on the table and pull the door behind you to shut it. Most flats have the type of door that doesn’t require you to lock when you leave. That’s something to watch out for, as it’s very easy to get locked outside (which is also a bummer, take our word for it). Make sure you lock the door with the key every time you leave the flat. That way your belongings stay safer.

Don’t smoke inside
NO smoking allowed in the apartment. We care about your lungs, but if you have to do it, please step outside. We’d like to keep the flat from smelling bad when our next guests arrive.

Don’t waste energy
We kindly ask you to please turn the lights and air conditioning units OFF whenever you leave the apartment. We care about our planet.

Extra stuff
Additional cleaning, bedding etc can be arranged for a longer stay - but you have to request this while booking.

Tourist tax:
The government of Cataluñya imposes a tourist tax of €6.88 to be paid by every person over 16 per night with a maximum length of 7 days. The tax is a small price to pay in exchange for clean beaches, well-maintained roads, and good facilities.

Arrival
Standard Check-in is from 15:00h to 20:00h. However, we can accommodate late arrivals as well.
Please note the extra charges for late arrivals:
Arrivals after 8PM have to pay €25 in cash to the person making the check in with you.
Arrivals after 12AM have to pay €50 in cash to the person making the check in with you.
These charges are due to late working hours of our staff.

Departure
Check-out time is by 11AM. Arrangements can be made to leave luggage in the apartment until the departure from Barcelona if no other reservations are pending.
Note: if there is no booking for that day, talk to us about arranging a later check-out (if possible).

Lost keys

Kind request
On your last day, please wash the dishes and take out the garbage.

Neighborhood:

If you’re here for the city
You are close to the city center, but closer to Sagrada Familia. Whatever your stance of religion, this building has the ability to take your breath away every time you lay eyes on it. Under construction for the last decades, still being perfected during the years to come, its unexplainable magnetism has fascinated millions of people, and will continue to dazzle millions more. There are no words to describe it, you really have to experience it for yourself.
Barcelona is a very lively place, with its contagious exuberance constantly spilling out onto small streets and cute Plaças packed with cafes, bars and local designer shops. The iconic La Rambla, an eclectic kilometer of restaurants, bars, cultural venues, street vendors, convenience stores, fashion boutiques and just about anything else you can think of is within walking distance. Explore palaces, history rich sites like Plaça Reial, admire street performers and avoid flower sellers. There’s an El Corte Inglés department store, in the heart of the city: Plaça Catalunya.
A notable stop on La Rambla is its famous Boqueria, a fresh-food market with over 300 stalls that sell produce, meats, cheeses, fish, seafood, nuts, fresh juices and many other incredibly delicious things to munch on. There’s also a local food school where local chefs and sommeliers share their wisdom. If you’re not afraid of a little hike, head uphill to find other iconic Barcelona landmarks, like the local’s favorite Villa de Gracia, or Gaudi’s other masterpiece: Park Guell. Either way you go, something awesome is waiting to be discovered.
Contemplate the gothic architecture around Barcelona’s 800 years old Cathedral, all covered in gargoyles. See Columbus’s statue, admire the yachts in the marina and stroll through the Barceloneta streets onto the nearest beaches for the Mediterranean vibe. Elegant colonial buildings surround you. Shadowy arches. High windows. Fading wooden shutters. Travel back in time as you wander the narrow streets. The buildings lean overhead, almost touching.

If you’re here for the beach
Barcelona’s beaches are many and offer a wide variety of dining, spots and other entertainment activities. For example, around Port Olimpic you will find people playing volleyball most of the year. The Barceloneta area is the most lively stretch of the beach, especially during the night, but if you’re not into crowds, here’s our tip: Bogatell is one of Barcelona’s newest beaches. Renovated in the 90s when the city’s coastline was rehabilitated to host some of the Olympic festivities, it is now a local favorite, not just for sunbathing and water sports, but also for everyone enjoying ping-pong, beach volley, or football.
Due to its recent urbanization, this 700m stretch of perfect sand is one of the best quality seafronts Barcelona has to offer.

If you’re here for nature
Parc Guell, Parc de Ciutadella and many other locations such as Montjuic or Tibidabo are easily accessible by metro, bus or taxi. There are many places where you can enjoy the beauty of nature, wild colored flowers or fragrant bushes. Just to visit all the attractions of Montjuic could easily take you a week. Here you can find not one but two wondrous botanical gardens, one of them a picture perfect cactus reservation that’s one of the natural wonders of Barcelona, The Fundacio Miro, The Poble Espanyol, The Theatre Grec, Palau Sant Jordi or the former Olympic village are only some of the attractions on Montjuic, but neither rivals the panoramic view of the city and the sea you will get from up there. Tibidabo’s amusement park offers breathtaking views of Barcelona.

If you’re here for shopping
Shop ‘til you drop! Or maybe not that much, but still, find local designers and cute boutique stores around your area, or head to the center for the big Corte Ingles next to Portal del Angel and walk along Passeig de Gracia / Rambla de Catalunya. If you’re looking for something more upscale, go to the Corte Ingles on Diagonal, or to Diagonal Mar, Europe’s biggest luxury shopping mall.
Pro tip: You’ll love the boutiques on Carrer d’Avinyó. At Number 7 you’ll find La Manual Alpargatera. It sells espadrille-inspired shoes. It's whispered they cut their colors from a real rainbow. Gray-purple-green? No problem.

If you’re here for museums
Rest assured, all the adjoining neighborhoods like Gothic, Born and Raval are full of museums, monuments and interesting cultural venues like Museo de la Marina, MACBA (for Contemporary Art) or the Catalan Cultural Center, plus some fun and interesting stuff for kids of all ages (Big Fun Museum and Museum of Illusions or the Wax Museum). The Gran Teatre del Liceu (Opera) is also on La Rambla. Everything is easily accessible by metro, bus, taxi or walking.
