In the south of the Périgord Noir, in the Pays des Bastides region, a relaxing, green holiday to discover the architectural, historical and gastronomic treasures of the Dordogne, Lot and Lot et Garonne.
Presentation
In the heart of Villefranche du Périgord, south of the Périgord Noir and in the Pays des Bastides, the campsite will be your base for discovering the historical and gastronomic heritage of the south-west: the Dordogne, Lot and Lot et Garonne departments await you between culture and nature (forests or rivers).The campsite is just a 5-minute walk from the center of the medieval village, where you'll find terraced pitches with views over the valley and the medieval village: peace and quiet await you. You'll enjoy free WIFI access, a 120 M² heated swimming pool and a paddling pool. The playgrounds, bouncy castle, petanque pitch, ping pong tables and recreation room are at the entrance to the campsite to preserve the peace and quiet of the pitches. Intergenerational activities are offered during the summer months, and you can do your shopping on foot in the village and enjoy the warm welcome of the shopkeepers, or go on a discovery tour of the heritage or the chestnut forests with their porcini mushrooms.

Description of the region
It would take several years to discover the local heritage in its entirety: a dozen villages have been awarded the label "Most beautiful villages in France", or "Small town or village of character", bastides founded in the Middle Ages by the King of France or the King of England, as well as castles (Middle Ages, Renaissance), museums (sculptures, ceramics, prehistoric remains, medieval weapons or old farming equipment... there's something for everyone!... there's something for everyone), prehistoric sites or concretion caves, animal parks... Take advantage of your stay to discover the surrounding chestnut forests, with their hiking, biking and horse-riding trails, as well as the pleasures of the river (on the Dordogne or the Lot): swimming, fishing, boat trips...And don't forget to discover all the local produce and specialities: chestnuts and ceps from Villefranche, of course, but also duck and goose, lamb, strawberries, asparagus, cabécou (goat's cheese), etc. For a more playful way of exploring the surrounding area, there are some 15 "Terrà Aventura" trails waiting for you, and for the more adventurous

Quiet campsite for the time of year, small but clean mobile home, very good welcome, the couple who run the campsite are very nice, it's a shame the weather wasn't on our side: cold on the first 2 days with sub-zero temperatures in the morning, which meant it was very cold in the mobile home in the morning, the only radiator in the mobile home couldn't heat the whole thing, the last 2 days it was raining, which meant we went home 1 day early. When the weather's fine, vacations are great, but when it's raining or cold, it's a real shame... We also had a gas problem on the last evening due to a malfunction, no hot water and no hotplates for cooking. We waited until the next day to report the problem, which was resolved.

The bosses are kind and attentive to their customers. We were invited to have an aperitif with them before leaving, which allowed us to discuss quite a lot with them. Quiet campsite. I highly recommend.
