Main Description:
Welcome to a FridaysFlats experience
So fresh and so clean!
Bogatell is one of Barcelona’s newest beaches. Renovated in the 90s when the city’s coastline was rehabilitated to host some of the Olympic festivities, it is now a local favorite, not just for sunbathing and water sports, but also for being a great choice for everyone enjoying ping-pong, beach volley, or football.
Due to its recent urbanization, this 700m stretch of perfect sand is one of the best quality seafronts Barcelona has to offer. The Sunny & Serene flat is about 5 minutes away walking, so access to Bogatell doesn’t get better than this.
Freshly remodeled in citric pastel colors and equipped with everything you need for a quick beach holiday, this place is also close to famous venues such as Forum, where Primavera Sound Festival takes place each year, or Diagonal Mar, Europe’s biggest luxury shopping Mall.
Quick, cheap and easily accessible public transport connects you to the rest of Barcelona’s iconic landmarks and history infused barrios: 10 minutes to Born or Gothic Quarter, Barceloneta Beach or Gaudi’s Famous Sagrada Familia. You’ll be as close to the city center as you can be, while still being a short walk away from the beach.
This beach-side studio with pastel interiors generously accommodates 4 people, in one bedroom and one living room with a sofa bed. The ideal getaway if you want to enjoy one of the city’s newest beaches, a former Olympic venue while lodging in the middle of the city, close to Barcelona’s own Silicon Valley - The Poblenou District.
Leaving the building will bring you face to face with tough planning decisions there’s great restaurants on one side, and fantastic aquatic opportunities on the other.
There is an AC unit in the Studio.
Notes:
First of all, welcome to Barcelona. We’re happy to have you and we hope you have an amazing time staying in our flat. That being said, at the risk of being obvious, here are some basic ground rules:
Be mindful
We are not the police, nor do we want you to feel like we are patronizing, but we think it’s our duty to point out some common sense stuff, as we’ve had our experiences with not so well behaved guests in the past.
Respect the neighbours. Put yourself in their shoes, and keep the noise down to a minimum after 10PM. You are on holiday, but they’re probably stressed about their jobs and would appreciate a good night’s sleep. We want you to have fun, but be reasonable and don’t do unto others what you wouldn’t like done to you. Pissing them off is only going to get you into trouble, and surely you don’t need that while you’re on holiday.
No Parties!
We get it, you’re excited about being in Barcelona. But remember, the walls are paper thin and if you’re having a party, so are the neighbours. And maybe they’re not in the mood for that. Don’t start a fight you can’t possibly win, it’s their city and we want to respect that. Any guest that causes a disturbance will be asked to leave the apartment immediately (no refund at all to be granted). Sorry!
Also, watch out for slamming doors or hallways. Try to be quiet when entering the building, it’s not hard to be a good neighbour and we’re sure you can do it.
Also, be fair! It is not allowed to have more guests than you indicate during your reservation.
Keys & check-out
Don’t leave the keys in the mailbox. If you leave earlier than check out time, please leave the keys on the table and pull the door behind you to shut it. Most flats have the type of door that doesn’t require you to lock when you leave. That’s something to watch out for, as it’s very easy to get locked outside (which is also a bummer, take our word for it). Make sure you lock the door with the key every time you leave the flat. That way your belongings stay safer.
Don’t smoke inside
NO smoking allowed in the apartment. We care about your lungs, but if you have to do it, please step outside. We’d like to keep the flat from smelling bad when our next guests arrive.
Don’t waste energy
We kindly ask you to please turn the lights and air conditioning units OFF whenever you leave the apartment. We care about our planet.
Extra stuff
Additional cleaning, bedding etc can be arranged for a longer stay - but you have to request this while booking.
Tourist tax:
The government of Cataluñya imposes a tourist tax of €6.88 to be paid by every person over 16 per night with a maximum length of 7 days. The tax is a small price to pay in exchange for clean beaches, well-maintained roads, and good facilities.
Arrival
Standard Check-in is from 15:00h to 20:00h. However, we can accommodate late arrivals as well.
Please note the extra charges for late arrivals:
Arrivals after 8PM have to pay €25 in cash to the person making the check in with you.
Arrivals after 12AM have to pay €50 in cash to the person making the check in with you.
These charges are due to late working hours of our staff.
Departure
Check-out time is by 11AM. Arrangements can be made to leave luggage in the apartment until the departure from Barcelona if no other reservations are pending.
Note: if there is no booking for that day, talk to us about arranging a later check-out (if possible).
Lost keys
If you lose a key, there will be a charge of €60 to replace the set.
Kind request
On your last day, please wash the dishes and take out the garbage.
Interaction:
We are here for you 24/7 - it’s our job to make sure you have a good time. Therefore, in addition to anything accommodation related, we can help you plan just about any experience you can think of, be it sailing trips, guided tours, off-the-beaten-path voyages.
You can also count on us for any type of transport (limo service, bike rental, scooters, jet-skis, yachts, just about anything short of a rocket, you name it we’ll take care of it).
We also offer deals on airport shuttle at convenient prices.
Neighborhood:
If you’re here for the city
You’ll be close to the city center (approx. 10 min on public transport or taxi, less than 30 min walk), where Barcelona’s vibrant day & nightlife, with its contagious exuberance, is constantly spilling out onto small streets and cute Plaças packed with cafes, bars and local designer shops.
Along Rambla del Poblenou, running from Avenida Diagonal to the beach, you will encounter a very eclectic mix of dining options, convenience stores or famous local pastry shops. Barcelona’s famous Torre Agbar, (the conic shaped building that will catch your eye for sure) , The Design Museum right by it and an amazing flea market called Encants are all around Poblenou’s Plaça de les Glòries.
If you’re here for the beach
Bogatell is the seafront of recently gentrified neighbourhood Poblenou, whose skyline rivals that of other important European capitals’. Formerly a small fishing village that became urbanised for the 1992 Olympic Games, Poblenou has its unique look and feel among Barcelona barrios. The appeal of the city brought a lot of tech companies here, making it a sort of Silicon Valley for start-ups. This makes for a very diverse and multicultural environment on Bogatell Beach.
If you’re here for the nature
Parc Guell, Parc de Ciutadella and many other locations such as Montjuic or Tibidabo are easily accessible by metro, bus or taxi. There are many places where you can enjoy the beauty of nature, wild colored flowers or fragrant bushes. Just to visit all the attractions of Montjuic could easily take you a week. Here you can find not one but two wondrous botanical gardens, one of them a cactus reservation that’s one of the most Instagrammable natural wonders of Barcelona, The Fundacio Miro, The Poble Espanyol, The Theatre Grec, Palau Sant Jordi or explore some of the former Olympic village attractions.
If you’re here for the shopping
Shop ‘til you drop! Or maybe not that much, but still, find local designers and cute boutique stores in Europe’s biggest Luxury Shopping Mall: Diagonal Mar. If you’re looking for more diversity, take the Yellow Metro Line (L4) directly to Passeig de Gracia Pro tip: A lot of stuff happens in Poblenou, food and fashion fairs, make sure to check social media / the internet for such pop-up events, they tend to be a lot fun.
If you’re here for museums
Rest assured, both neighbouring Ciudat Vella neighbouring Raval are full of museums, monuments and interesting cultural venues like Museo de la Marina, MACBA (for Contemporary Art) or the Catalan Cultural Center, plus some fun and interesting stuff for kids if you need to entertain them (Big Fun Museum and Museum of Illusions or the Wax Museum). Bonus, you can take the Yellow Line (L4) to Barceloneta and walk to the Barcelona Aquarium.
Access:
Thanks to its close to the city center location, this flat is easily reachable from the airport by metro (40 minutes to Glories), shuttle bus (A1 or A2 until Plaça Catalunya) or taxi (if you want to enjoy the views).
