This latest addition to the Home at Homes portfolio is a superb property located on the second floor of a stately building, which has been completely renovated while retaining the essence of its distinguished past.


We certainly fell for it. As I'm sure you will too. Its spaciousness, a legacy of the architecture of yesteryear, the aristocratic lines of its façade, the high ceilings and magnificent woodwork that give the large windows and balconies a grandiose character and that slightly eccentric modernist touch so typical of Seville's regional architecture.


The interior design is in keeping with all this, blending classic elegance, contemporary style and a certain dandy design. The sobriety of the colors - gray, navy and dark brown - contrasts with the romantic warmth of the oak floors, the refurbished shutters and the vintage charm of some of the furniture.


The clever layout makes the most of the 80 m2 of this delightful home. The main living area, accessible from the hall, is a large open space divided in two by striking furniture. A modern sideboard separates the living room, which is equipped with a large chenille sofa, coffee table, side table, designer lamps and two comfortable poufs with knitted wool covers. At one end is a small dining room for four or six, nestled in front of a large bookcase and beneath a distinctive art deco ceiling light. This living space has a large enclosed balcony and gallery overlooking the Plaza de los Refinadores, a charming spot to enjoy the sun or a good book, to make the most of the natural light that streams in.


The kitchen is one of the apartment's most distinctive features. This is where it all happens! It's part of the living room, but ideally separated by a glass wall. This means it benefits from natural light practically all day long. It is equipped down to the last detail and decorated with care, so much so that it appears as a decorative element in its own right, as well as being a versatile space for social and family life. There's plenty of storage in the spacious cupboards, which also house appliances. Cement tiles on one of the walls add a touch of color, as a nod to the typical Sevillian architecture of the turn of the last century. Appliances and electrics are of the highest quality, and kitchen and tableware are plentiful. You'll never be surprised if guests arrive!


The sleeping area comprises two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed and en-suite bathroom. Built-in wardrobes offer plenty of space and keep everything tidy and out of sight, allowing for a good night's sleep. The bathroom has a rain shower.


The second bedroom has two single beds and a built-in wardrobe, and next door is the second bathroom, with simple, modern lines and also equipped with a shower.


The Plaza de los Refinadores is one of the most charming spaces in the Barrio de Santa Cruz, surrounded by traditional houses and ornamental trees that provide welcome shade. It's next to Murillo Gardens, one of Seville's most romantic spots, and very close to Avenida Menéndez Pelayo, one of the city's main thoroughfares, on the edge of the old walled city, within walking distance of all the main sights: the old tobacco factory, Maria Luisa Park and Plaza de España, the Reales Alcázares (Royal Palace), the Giralda and the Cathedral. You really want to be here!
