With its ideal location along the Vendée coast, halfway between La Tranche-sur-Mer and Les Sables d'Olonne, Jard-sur-Mer is a perfect holiday destination for families. A seaside resort on a human scale, it will please holidaymakers looking for quiet stays and will allow lovers of discovery and water sports to indulge in their favourite activities.
Wild and sunny, the Jardais coast is full of magnificent sites, thanks to its beaches and oak forests bordering the Côte de Lumière. An authentic destination, Jard-sur-Mer offers its visitors long sandy beaches spread over 7 kilometres. Alternating family beaches and wild coves, the city's coastline is ideal for long afternoons of idleness and swimming under the Vendée sun. The beach of "Boisvinet", not far from the port, is very popular with windsurfing, dinghy and fishing on foot. Totally preserved, the "Beach of the Mine" bordered by dunes is adored by surfers and holidaymakers in search of calm. Ideal for reading a good book and indulging in long, peaceful tanning sessions, this beach takes its name from an ancient silver mining operation that dug the cliffs for three centuries. More explorers will head for the Pointe de la Payré, west of Jard, where several small coves of sand or pebbles offer pretty views of the northern Vendée coast.
As for sporting activities, water sports aficionados are definitely in the right place in Jard-sur-Mer. The reputation of the surf spots of the resort being not any more to make, they attract each year many amateurs of this discipline. You too can enjoy your stay, whether you are a novice or a snowboarder, take surf or bodyboard lessons, but also jet-ski, banana rocket, paddle and sailing. The resort of Jard-sur-Mer offers treasure hunts through the seaside resort, an original and fun way to discover the city and its charms.
A "green" destination, Jard-sur-Mer is the perfect place for hiking and family walks, in the shade of the oaks and pine forests that border its beaches. Thanks to its many paths, you will be able to walk or cycle through the cool trees, discover the local fauna and flora. The commune is also surrounded by large marshes of more than 85 hectares, very appreciated by the inhabitants and the holidaymakers who come to stroll there. An 8 km long hiking loop along the Payré stream through the fields will allow you to discover the beauty of these marshes, halfway between land and sea, where a large number of birds nest, notably the grey heron. Ideal for young and old, this excursion will also give you the opportunity to approach cows, donkeys and horses. Along the many hiking routes that criss-cross Jard-sur-Mer, you will appreciate the calm of this seaside resort and the magnificence of its landscapes.
Rendez-vous at the port of Jard-sur-Mer, starting point of many sea excursions for holidaymakers at the seaside. The marina is also very appreciated by families because of its playground facing the sea, which delights young and old. You can rent rosalies, bicycles, go karting, carousel or mini-golf. Theatre of many animations in July and August (concerts, night markets, games, street shows), this port overhung by the Mill of Conchette will offer you very beautiful sunsets with shimmering colors.
Finally, to make the most of your stay in the Vendée, you will need to taste the local flavours at all costs. No aperitif is worth it without a piece of garlic "préfou" with a glass of "trouspinette" ! Living at the rhythm of the sea, Jard bases his cooking on products such as fish, sardines (grilled !), salicornes, but also on his potatoes, his famous mogettes and his Vendée ham. And finally, on the sweet side, we can't resist the idea of taking back a slice of Vendée waste, gourmand to wish.

The port is super nice. A small bar a little far from the port is a nice place. We had a great time eating tapas. Really spend there to have a good time.
