Conil de la Frontera, a former fishing port converted to family tourism, has 14 kilometres of beautiful, long beaches nestled between the ocean and the pine forest. Its white village built around its Torre de Guzman is crossed by narrow streets where rise beautiful houses painted with lime. Walk to Santa Catalina square, the historical centre of Conil, to admire its church of the same name, imposing and renovated as a cultural centre. Walk through the streets of the city to meet its galleries, shops of craftsmen and potters, but above all to discover its medieval fortifications like the "Puerta de la Villa", one of the four gates that once allowed you to enter the village. If Conil is one of the most beautiful villages in Andalusia, it is certainly one of those where we also eat best. Ancient fishing village, it is quite naturally that its gastronomy is based on fish dishes cooked in a thousand and one ways. The city organizes every year the "Rut adel Atun", understand the "Tuna Route". In addition to its bluefin tuna specialities, we advise you to try "pescaito frito", "espalda", "calzon" (from the shark), squid, "tortillas de camarones" (an omelette of shrimps), sea bream and the legendary gazpacho, so refreshing during hot weather. A little fat but so good, "berenjanas al miel", eggplant chips cooked in honey, are one of Conil's specialities, to taste absolutely. The ideal way to discover the beauty of western Andalusia is to opt for walks or cycling around Conil de la Frontera, from the port of Conil to the village via its coastal paths which offer the most courageous breathtaking panoramas over the ocean, and the white village tinged with bright colours when the sun sets. The most sporty can also go to El Palmar, Tarifa (for its surf spots) or Cape Trafalgar, about fifteen kilometers south of Conil.

Bordered by the Atlantic Ocean, Conil de la Frontera has beaches of spectacular beauty for all tastes, from huge expanses of white sand lined with crystal clear water to wild coves, without forgetting the magnificent beaches on the edge of cliffs. A major asset of Conil de la Frontera, its beaches are true paradises on earth. Los Bateles beach" is very urban and has a promenade and is the closest to the city centre. La Fontanilla" is certainly the most popular among holidaymakers : 1200 metres long, its shallow waters mainly attract families who bathe safely. The beautiful "beach of Castilnovo" is one of the few virgin beaches on the coast not far from a large seaside resort. Totally natural and wild, it is only very little frequented, for the biggest happiness of the lovers of calm and large spaces. It is also frequented by amateurs of nudism and sliding sports. The light coast is famous for its very popular surf spots and Conil has a good reputation in the field thanks to its beautiful waves that the most daring will love to face. From the beach of "la Fontanilla" to the magnificent beach of "Bateles" via the cove of "Fuente del gallo", lovers of snow sports can have a field day trying to tame the waves of the Atlantic. You can also trimaran, sail, windsurf or kitesurf during your stay in Conil. Astonishing coves are to be added to Conil's list of jewels.
