Saint-Jeannet is located in the Alpes-Maritimes department, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. About 20 kilometers from Nice, between Vence, Gattières and La Gaude, this village perched at the foot of the Baou de Saint-Jeannet (800 meters) is a real little paradise for climbers who meet in large numbers on its rock, known for offering crazy panoramas of the Mercantour summits, Antibes, the Estérel massif, the Lérins islands and the Cagne valley where you can see the ruins of the Castellet, a very old fortified sheepfold. Gourmet land, Saint-Jeannet is known for its white wine, which inspired Jacques Prévert for a poem, but also for the bean pie, a specialty of the village for years now. But it is not only Prévert that the delicacies and landscapes of Saint-Jeannet have historically inspired; also, many artists have settled for a day or forever within its walls, like Georges Ribemont-Dessaignes, Chagall, Dufy or Henri Matisse to name a few! Like them, take the time to fall under the spell of this charming dead-end village; from winding alleys to shady squares, you will pass through a whole bunch of cobbled streets in the Queirard district that will tirelessly lead you to the church and the chapels that adorn the village. Our advice? Don't miss the Panorama to discover one of the most beautiful viewpoints on the village, from the heights of the Braüs pass to the Esterel, the Italian border and Corsica! The 19th century communal wash house, the rue de la Poudrière and its large 15th century Porte de la Poudrière, but also the magnificent Saint-Jean-Baptiste chapel which is worth a visit for its views of the coast, the vaulted passages, the fountains, as well as the Château des Templiers are all sites that you must see during your stay in Saint-Jeannet.

As for activities, in addition to hiking and climbing (with no less than 500 routes), you can also discover the joys of via corda and speleology! Local festivals, exhibitions, tree climbing in the Bois des Lutins, visits to the Gairaut waterfall, the Abbey of Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix, walks along the Var, Nice, Henri Matisse, and the beaches of Saint-Laurent-du-Var will give you a good overview of the heritage of the Côte-d'Azur!
