On the banks of the river Beaume which gave it its name, the village of character of Pont-de-Labeaume is one of those places impossible to forget. Authentic, and resolutely open to nature, this Ardèche village has everything, oh yes everything, to make you spend incredible holidays in the heart of a preserved nature.

In the heart of the Monts d'Ardèche Regional Nature Park, Pont-de-Labeaume is a real gem. Nestled in a most splendid setting, and dominated by Champestras, Labeaume is crossed from one side to the other by the Ardèche, which poetically outlines the village and draws magnificent basalt organs along the banks of the river. Just at the foot of the Château de Ventadour, at the confluence of the valleys of the Ardèche, Fontaulière and Lignon, Pont-de-Labeaume reveals on its slopes splendid wooded grounds, made of cherry trees, plum trees and a chestnut grove, which give it a bucolic charm. Surrounded by limestone cliffs with impressive caves, the village boasts beautiful little stone houses, all squeezed along narrow lanes and vaulted passages, which patiently invite you to stroll around. In this labyrinth of alleys that will lead you tirelessly to the top of the village, you will find the church of Notre-Dame de Niègles, a local star renowned for housing a calvary and a black virgin. After taking the time to admire the Gallo-Roman military milestone that stands proudly on the church square, take the time to climb to the very top of Pont-de-Labeaume, to admire a breathtaking panorama. From this perched viewpoint, you can discover the village of course, but also the neighbouring hamlets, and the green valleys of the Ardèche drawn by bridges and rivers which give the place a crazy character.

With good shoes, hiking is the main activity here. Along the banks of the Ardèche and the Lignon, via the Bosc stream, and throughout the Monts d'Ardèche Regional Nature Park, you will find endless ideas for walks, sometimes sporting, sometimes contemplative, perfect for both weekend sportsmen and seasoned walkers. Moreover, 3 circuits of 4 to 6 kilometers cross Pont-de-Labeaume, and will be perfect to allow you to discover its singularity. You will pass by the Roman Bridge at the entrance of the village, by the Rolandy bridge, the Bayzan footbridge, and the terraces that outline the Ardèche valleys. But if there is one place that attracts attention in the area, it is the Château de Ventadour, proudly standing on the Rolandy rock at a height of 70 metres in the commune of Meyras. Partly dismantled, this castle that poetically pierces the clouds is worthy of the most beautiful postcards. Open to the public, it is worth a visit for the splendour of its buildings and for the panoramic views it affords of the confluence of the Fontaulière and Ardèche rivers. The Ardèche, which flows through Pont-de-Labeaume, is the scene of many activities in fine weather! In addition to swimming, you can go canoeing or kayaking, for hiking in the direction of Aubenas or the wonderful Pont du Diable in the town of Thueyts! Via ferrata, fishing and white water activities will complete your stay in the Ardèche.
