A seaside district of the Mathes commune, La Palmyre is prized above all for its beautiful fine sandy beaches and its famous Bonne Anse bay. In this paradisiac setting, you can practice sailing, kayaking, kiteboarding, paddle but also enjoy the famous spot of La Coubre, on the wild coast, to perfect your surfing or bodyboarding. In the heart of the bay, nature lovers can observe many species of migratory birds and, at low tide, fish on foot. If you want to discover the beauty of the coast from the sea, you can also board a sailboat from the port of La Palmyre.
After enjoying the Atlantic Ocean, discover the resort of La Palmyre. Near the central beach, you can admire a villa built by Le Corbusier, Le Sextant, and the Russian Villa, with beautiful oval curves. If you are not afraid to climb 300 steps, then go to the lighthouse at La Coubre. From the top of its 64 meters, you will have an admirable sight on the wild coast and on the bay. By taking certain paths, you can reach the magnificent 9-hole golf course of La Palmyre and the amusement parks : The Palmyra Adventures and the Indian Forest. The 40 kilometres of cycle paths will allow you to visit the neighbouring towns of La Tremblade and Saint-Palais-sur-Mer and even venture further on the Vélodyssée.
