On the Atlantic coast, Saint-Georges d'Oléron is an ideal destination for all those who want to cast off. Off the mainland, you can enjoy the joys of the sea, quickly reach the island's 150 kilometres of cycle paths, attack Fort Boyard and enjoy the famous Marennes d'Oléron.

Located in the north of the island, Saint-Georges d'Oléron extends from the west coast to the east coast and invites you to enjoy its 16 kilometres of beaches. On the programme: idleness on the fine sand, surfing, kitesurfing, sailing, kayaking, paddle... The resort also has an ideal location to discover exceptional sites: Fort Boyard, Ile d'Aix, Antioch... To do so, rent a catamaran, a jet-ski or board a cruise ship. If you want to please your children, it is also possible to take this sea trip on a pirate ship. During the crossing, they will even be able to take the helm and train for manoeuvres. Enough to satisfy them!

Many other activities will make your holiday unforgettable. For example, take the paths of the Salmonards state forest, covered with pine trees, or along the channels that fed the salt marshes for beautiful hikes, cycling or canoeing. Take some riding lessons in one of the equestrian centres of Saint-Georges d'Oléron or visit the Ferme aux Ânes. The latter offers you a commented tour on donkey breeding but also walks on marked circuits or in a carriage. Then enjoy a few hours of tennis or a few moments of relaxation at the balneotherapy institute.

Also discover the 7 villages that make up the commune of Saint-Georges d'Oléron. In the village, admire the large halls and the Romanesque church, whose construction began in the 11th century. In Boyardville, head to the harbour for a breathtaking view of Fort Boyard. But also visit the village of Sauzelle with its characteristic low houses or the village of Domino, one of the highest points on the island. On the way, discover the local producers, products and specialities: oysters, smoked salmon from the Annie Smokehouse, fish but also market garden products, vines such as white wine and pineau.

Bicycles, walks, beaches... There is a lack of bars, restaurants and shops in St Georges. La Cotinière is more attractive (town centre and port).
