For a holiday based on discovery, family adventure and outdoor activities, Brittany is definitely a good idea. In the north of the region, a short distance from Tréguier and Paimpol, Lanmodez is the perfect place to put your bags.

It is in the department of Côtes-d'Armor that the small town of Lanmodez is located. Located on the Presqu'Île Sauvage, the village of Lanmodez and its picturesque charm are little, very little known to visitors, and this is one of the reasons for its success with holidaymakers who dream of a quiet holiday, away from the crowds. Just at the mouth of the Trieux estuary, facing the archipelago of Brehat, the territory of Lanmodez conceals many ancient treasures, archaeological nuggets such as the covered alley of Coalen Island, which attest to the very ancient occupation of this sector of the Costarmorican coastline. The real jewel of Lanmodez is its coast. Cut between coastal and agricultural fringes, wooded moors and ports, the town has been attracting artists for years now, such as Charles Lapicque, Henri Rivière, Henri Matisse, Paul Signac and many others, inspired by the authentic and wild character of this town where farmers and sailors have settled for centuries. Take the time to walk through the foreshore of Lanmodez, via its shores covered with fragrant plants, and on the easily accessible Coalen Island, around which you can pick saltwort, and collect wild oysters, cockles, clams and winkles.

Ah, the beaches of Lanmodez... Wild and preserved, one feels here that this magnificent scenery has been spared from the hand of man. You will not find a large nautical center, but you can still opt for boat trips from the shore of the shellfish area of Min ar Goas, paddle, swim and bask in the sun on the warm sand of Traez Coalen beach, Beg Sable beach, the cove of Beg Mélard and Porz Guyon beach.

If you prefer hiking to fishing and swimming, you can find in Lanmodez many walking routes including the GR34, which will allow you to walk along all the beaches of the town, with the sea, the island of Brehat and the bay of Pomelin in the background. The GR34, which borders the whole of Brittany, will lead you to the north of the peninsula towards a well-known walking site in the region: the Sillon de Talbert. This 3.5 kilometre long overhang on the sea, surrounded by legends concerning the love story between the fairy Morgane and Merlin, is a geological curiosity of exceptional beauty. Between sand and pebbles, this timeless place will give you the impression of walking on water! Our advice: take something to cover yourself with, being in the middle of the sea, this dune line is often exposed to the wind, and from experience... it's a real head turner! While staying in Lanmodez, you can also discover the Gouffre de Plougrescant and its famous house between the rocks, visit Tréguier and its Saint-Tugdual cathedral famous for its splendid cloister, but also the Island of Bréhat nicknamed the island of flowers for its alleys studded with hydrangeas and agapanthus ... In short, impossible to get bored during a stay in Lanmodez!
