In the heart of the Côte du Goëlo, in the former Pays de Saint-Brieuc, Plouha is one of those small seaside resorts adored by lovers of Brittany. Vast, adorned with high cliffs and bordered by water of disconcerting beauty, it is a tireless invitation to discovery, hiking and outdoor activities.

It is in the Côtes-d'Armor, in the very north of Brittany, that the small town of Plouha is located. Built in the heart of a wild coast, it unveils to its lucky visitors thick moors, but also landscapes made of forests, green valleys and an absolutely generous nature which will fill the lovers of the great outdoors. A few figures on the subject will whet the appetite of walkers: Plouha has more than 290 kilometres of marked routes, 180 kilometres of roads, 70 kilometres of communal paths, a farandole of footpaths and cycle paths in its lands and 14 kilometres of coastal paths, perfect for family walks as well as for sporting hikes. From the coastal paths, all the breathtaking beauty of this pretty corner of Brittany will jump out at you: panoramas over the Penthièvre coast, over the bay of Saint-Brieuc, over the blue-gold-lined beaches below, but also, and above all, over its cliffs. Ah, the cliffs of Plouha! Crossed by the GR34, which runs along the whole region from one side to the other, these absolutely magnificent cliffs are known to be the highest in all of Brittany. Take the time to discover these majestic, poetic and oh so impressive cliffs, to walk along them in the early morning to admire the still foggy landscape of the coast which awakens in a silence only broken by the coming and going of the sea and the cormorants, during the day to capture the splendour of the contrasts on the sea, or at sunset to see the whole coast tinged with bright colours. Invigorating strolls from this jagged coastline, made up of small ports, intimate coves and rocky headlands.

After a good sail along the sea and inland, take a break in the village of Plouha. It is the perfect place for a refreshing and gastronomic break, full of small souvenir shops and gourmet restaurants. After tasting delicious buckwheat pancakes, garnished with andouilles, cheese, mushrooms or Leon's vegetables, take the time to discover this village with its houses decorated with colourful and fragrant hydrangeas. The chapel of Kermaria-an-Iskuit is worth seeing: a very old seigniorial chapel from the 13th century, this ancient necropolis impresses by the variety of its decorations, including a representation of the Dance Macabre, 16th century frescoes and bas-reliefs made of alabaster.

A land of escape above all, Plouha is also a small paradise for lovers of water sports and idleness. Thus, the city has nearly a dozen beaches and creeks perfect for bubbling in the sun and indulging in your nautical activities. From the splendid Bonaparte beach to the Palus beach, passing by those of Gwin Zéégal, Beg Hastel, Port Moguer, Bréhec and Vieux Bréhec beaches, you will inevitably find a place to put your towel under the sun. In addition to swimming, sunbathing and family sandcastle contests, you can surf, sail, dive, shoreline fishing, sea fishing or walking, canoeing or sea kayaking... There's no better way to discover the cliffs from the sea!
