About twenty kilometres from Quimper, at the tip of Finistère, the small town of Plonéour-Lanvern faces the Baie d'Audierne. Proud village of the Bigouden region, it combines all the assets for an authentic, sporty and gourmet holiday.

Ah, how good it is to live in Plonéour-Lanvern! With its outstanding heritage, its omnipresent nature, its proximity to the sea and its collection of hiking trails, this small Breton town definitely has everything for it. To discover its charms, nothing beats putting on your sneakers to take one of the many walking trails that cross the village. With the family? The "Train Carottes" trail (6 kilometres), located on a former railway line that linked Audierne to Pont-l'Abbé, will give you a good overview of Plonéour-Lanvern and its surrounding hamlets. The "Circuit de Kermorvan" (5.3 kilometres) will lead you to discover the local fauna and flora, via the Ralphen site botanical park and the Plonéour-Lanvern walking trails. The lake of the new mill is also the perfect place for a small outing around this basin which supplies drinking water to 11 municipalities in the Pont-l'Abbé region, you will certainly appreciate the calm and beauty of its green woods. The place is shaded, ideal for a small picnic with the family or for a "cool" walk in the early morning. You can also observe gulls, grebes, coots or even swans that have made their home on the shores of this small lake.

In the heart of its village, Plonéour-Lanvern will reveal its important heritage, mainly religious. The 11th century Saint-Philibert de Lanvern chapel is worth a visit, as is the 13th century Notre-Dame de Languivoa chapel, which is interesting for its half-romanic, half-gothic architecture. Emblematic of the city, it was deprived of its bell tower during the Red Caps revolt at the end of the 17th century and nowadays houses one of the oldest statues of Cornouaille in polychrome alabaster. While walking in Plonéour-Lanvern, you will also cross the path of the Saint-Énéour church, and that of the enclosure of Cozmaner, also called the "Par ar Hastel", located near the old Roman road which connected Tronoën to Quimper... And if you are lucky, you may come across some famous Bigoudènes, wearing their famous white hat.

The call from the sea? You will not be able to resist a visit to Plonéour-Lanvern. The Atlantic Ocean, which bathes its neighbouring seaside resorts, is a gigantic open-air playground for water sports enthusiasts who will be spoilt for choice: From the beach of La Torche (in Plomeur, known for its famous Pointe de la Torche), Kermabec (in Tréguennec) or Trégoat, you can (in addition to swimming of course) go sea kayaking, surfing, canoeing, bodyboarding, kitesurfing, sailing, windsurfing... These are huge beaches renowned by amateur and professional athletes, who host their share of surf and kitesurf competitions every year.
