On the banks of the Gardon, Remoulins is the pride of the Occitanie region. With its wild landscapes and rich architectural treasures, Remoulins is one of those unmissable destinations that will captivate visitors' hearts in no time. If there is one major site to see during your visit, it is the famous Pont du Gard: magnificent, imposing and testifying to the importance of Remoulins in history, it is located in the north-east of the town. Renowned throughout the world for the beauty of its arches, this three-level Roman water bridge is the most visited ancient monument in France. Classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this architectural marvel is as surprising as it is fascinating. You can visit it, cross it, and even kayak under its arches when the weather and water level allow it. Located in the heart of a wild environment that is ideal for hiking, it is very popular with walkers, but also with photographers who come day and night to capture its reflection in the Gard.
The Old Remoulins is also worth a visit, thanks to its many sites with their architecture marked by history. Listed as a Historic Monument, the Church of Our Lady of Bethlehem is one of these sites not to be missed: from 12th century church to town hall, prison and school, it is one of the oldest buildings in the town. Stroll to the rhythm of Remoulins' tangled alleys and then go to the remains of the old suspension bridge, built in 1830 by brothers Camille and Marc Seguin, the inventors of the suspension bridge in France. The parish church of Saint-Martin Notre-Dame, the medieval tower of Les Escaravats, the keep, the 12th century fortified gates, the Saint-Martin de Ferlières chapel and the Château de Rabasse (former Renaissance castle of the Lords of Remoulins) are among the most beautiful monuments in the city.
Remoulins is also a village that smells of Provence and its ancestral traditions. These traditions are first of all gastronomic: it is impossible to stay in Remoulins without tasting the olives of Nîmes, a brasucade of mussels, strawberries of Nîmes, but also focaccia with fritons, fish brandade, crunchy Villaret, pelardon, croquignoles d'Uzès, liquorice, Cévennes honey and fruits and vegetables from local production. In addition to the gourmet traditions, Remoulins is marked by its bullfighting traditions. From February to September, you may have the opportunity to attend Camargue races on the Remoulins track, but also "toro-piscine" in summer, and many bullfighting events during the votive festival in July.
For a breath of fresh air in this real little corner of paradise, what could be better than hiking? Many walks start in Remoulins: through the garrigue, on the GR6 and PR 41, you will discover all the beauty of this old village. By bike, PR 34, 36, 37, 37, 38 and 40 are particularly recommended. For the irrepressible desires of diving in the Gardon, you should know that swimming is allowed, but not supervised. On the other hand, you can fish, canoe, kayak and even speleology in complete safety, with instructors.

Close to Avignon (the Popes Palace, the Avignon bridge and free access to the ferry to go to the other side of the Rhône (Côte Villeneuve). Close to the Camargue (the Giraud salt marshes, Piemanson beach) and so many other things to discover!
