A jewel of the Arcachon basin, between Biscarrosse and Arcachon, La Teste-de-Buch is one of the most popular destinations on the Atlantic coast, as well as one of the largest cities in France. Its preserved landscapes, fine sandy beaches and environment conducive to outdoor activities make it a must for family holidays.

As for swimming in the sea, you will have to go to the famous Dune du Pilat (located in the seaside resort of Pyla-sur-Mer, which belongs to La Teste-de-Buch). Ranked since 1994, this highest dune in Europe impresses by its size as well as by the breathtaking panorama it offers from its summit (106 metres above sea level) over the entire Arcachon Basin, the Banc d'Arguin, Cap Ferret and the surrounding forests. Looking for an original experience? Many activities are organised on the Grand Site of the Dune du Pilat all year round, from guided walks at sunset to workshops, including children's workshops and sports outings. It has several beaches at its feet, ideal for long relaxing breaks, but not only... Want to surf the waves of the Atlantic Ocean? You've come to the right place! Whether you are an apprentice or an experienced surfer, during your stay you will have the opportunity to challenge the famous waves of La Teste-de-Buch, whether you pack your bags in the resort in winter or in summer. And if you feel like it, you can also opt for lessons, solo or in groups, to improve your technique. But many other water sports are also available on the ocean beaches: bodyboarding, sea kayaking, canoeing, rowing, fishing, water skiing, wakeboarding, windsurfing, scuba diving, sea diving, sailboat rides, towed buoys, windsurfing, flyboarding, pirogue, paddle, fly surfing, parachute... Do you prefer more intimate beaches? Those located on the shores of Lake Sanguinet may be more suitable for you. The beach of Lac de Cazaux, in particular, is very popular with families: with its small picnic tables in the pine forest, its calm, warm and shallow waters, it conquers every summer the holidaymakers who love lake beaches. Here too, there are water sports and hiking activities for the whole family: diving, tennis, water skiing, horse riding, horse riding, cycling, hiking, paragliding, sailing, surfing, bodyboarding, catamaran, fishing, paddle, Hawaiian pirogue, wave rafting, windsurfing...
