Looking for fresh air, nature and adventure? Welcome to Salles, a small village located 50 kilometres from Bordeaux, 35 kilometres from Arcachon and 30 kilometres from Biscarrosse.

In the heart of the Landes de Gascogne forest, in the kingdom of maritime pines, Salles is an ideal green holiday resort to recharge your batteries while enjoying a magnificent setting to enjoy a whole host of outdoor activities. Watered by the Eyre, the latter is the scene of many canoe or kayak trips to discover the splendours of its shaded banks. In the direction of Mios (10 kilometres), Mesplet (12 kilometres), Saugnac (26 kilometres) and Teich (20 kilometres), these visits by force of arms will lead you tirelessly towards the sea. If you prefer pedal rides to river rides, you should know that Salles and the Landes de Gascogne forest are criss-crossed by numerous cycle paths, some of which are built on old railway tracks crossing the Arcachon Basin. La Teste-de-Buch, Lège-Cap-Ferret, Sanguinet and its lake, Parentis-en-Born, Hostens and its lake, these are all destinations that you can easily reach, all located less than 40 kilometres from Salles. On foot, there too, the range of possibilities is wide and varied, so you will find itineraries for all types of walkers, ranging from 9 to 22 kilometres across the Val de l'Eyre. Very popular with walkers, the Val de l'Eyre is just as popular with pilgrims, as the latter is located on the Way of Santiago de Compostela. As for curiosities, the most meticulous will linger on the old houses of Salles, and more particularly on the old fences, the old walls and the cliff which overhangs the right bank of the Eyre bridge. These rocks, today precious witnesses of the history of Salles, still bear traces of the town's past since they are made up of the remains of fish bones and shells, proof that several million years ago, the Aquitaine Basin was occupied by the Falun Sea.

Finally, you will have understood that Salles' main asset is its location! If, in addition to hiking, canoeing and mountain biking, you want to dive into the Atlantic, nothing could be easier, you only need to travel a few kilometres to find yourself, with a cocktail in your hand, lounging out on the magnificent beaches of Biscarrosse (30 kilometres) and Gujan-Mestras (25 kilometres). Facing Bird Island, with a breathtaking view of the entire Bassin d'Arcachon, by the lake or facing the sea, there is a huge range of activities available to you, with activities for all ages and all budgets. Pedal boat rental, paddle, surfing (of course, you are here in the Landes!), scuba diving, water skiing, sailing, snorkeling, beach handball, flyboard, kitesurfing, towed buoys, cruises in the pool, waterbike, rowing, fishing, sea kayaking, bodyboard, water skiing... There will definitely be something for everyone!
