An emblematic commune of the Guadeloupean archipelago, Le Gosier is one of its main tourist destinations. Located on Grande-Terre, not far from Saint-Anne, Pointe-à-Pitre and Abymes, it is the perfect seaside resort for holidays punctuated by the waves, the sun and festive evenings. With its tropical climate and exotic vegetation, it is the paradise destination par excellence.
Rich in exceptional natural sites, Le Gosier also shines with its cultural treasures. The resort is home to the Aquarium de la Guadeloupe, the largest aquarium in the Caribbean installed at the edge of the Bas du Fort marina. Inaugurated in 1985, it is one of the most visited sites in Guadeloupe thanks to its 80 species of marine animals and 50 species of corals. Fascinated by maritime culture or simply curious, know that during this sunny stay, you can also go on an excursion to discover the mangrove, this ecosystem made of sea marshes typical of tropical regions. Via a hiking trail located along the beach Saint-Félix (coastal path), or via boat trips, you will discover the rich vegetation of these swamp forests, but also its varied fauna : thus, it will be possible for you to cross the road of frogs, reptiles, bats, fish and birds as the Pic de la Guadeloupe, small bird emblematic of the department. An invaluable jewel, the coral reef is one of the essentials of your stay in the tropics. The coral reef of the Grand Cul de Sac-Marin is a veritable submerged tropical forest more than 25 kilometres long, touching the surface of the water. A paradise for multicoloured fish and numerous plant species, this protected area is the greatest barrier to protect underwater life in the West Indies. Accompanied by guides, you can dive to discover it, equipped with masks and snorkels. If you have a camera going underwater, don't forget it! You may be able to bring back some magnificent underwater shots from this trip.
Lively, sunny, dynamic, bordered by long stretches of white sand and turquoise waters to be damned... The Gosier definitely has everything to please. Caressed by the waves of the Caribbean sea, this seaside resort whose reputation is well known is above all the ideal place for long afternoons of idleness under the sun. Why come on holiday to Le Gosier ? For his beaches, of course. The beaches of "Anse Vinaigri" and "Fort Fleur d'Épée" are ideal for children because of their calm and shallow waters. The latter is located below one of the most beautiful historical monuments on the island : Fort Fleur d'Épée. A theatre of fighting between France and England during the 18th century, it was built during the Seven Years' War. Its imposing fortification guarded by 3 cannons and its 150 meters long ramparts offer superb panoramas on the Grand Bay. In the centre of the town, the "Datcha" beach, lit at night, enjoys an absolutely magnificent environment conducive to idleness and water sports. If it is adored by the joggers gosiériens, it is also very appreciated by aficionados of sailing, surfing and snorkeling curious to discover the splendours of the seabed of the island. From this beach, you can also board a sea kayak towards Gosier islet (also accessible by swimming for the most sporty), a small island located opposite the seaside resort. Constellated with coconut trees, with its magnificent water and its white sand, the islet of Gosier is worthy of the most beautiful postcards. We advise you to climb to the top of its lighthouse equipped with your camera to immortalize the 360° point of view on the bay which surrounds you. Back at the Gosier resort, the Anse Tabarin beach will also delight snow sports enthusiasts thanks to its nautical base and its seawater swimming pool. You will also have to go to the beaches of "Anse Tabarin" and "Saint-Félix", those of "Les Salines" and the quiet beach of "Le Petit Havre", adored by families but also by fish lovers who come in large numbers to buy fresh fish from local fishermen. For a perfect discovery of these magnificent beaches and coves, we advise you to take the coastal path, from the "Plage des Salines" to Canot Point. At sunrise and sunset, this walk will offer you colourful and truly magnificent paintings.
With its marina lined with shops, restaurants and cafés, Le Gosier is an undeniably dynamic destination. Nightlife paradise, the resort has many nightclubs such as La Cascade and l'Olympe, and we also advise you to go there in July or August, during the international zouk festival : atmosphere guaranteed !
