On the seaside, one site catches the attention of visitors: the Old Church, located just below Cap de Carteret. Between the thick dunes and the cape, the ruins of this ancient church are a must on your visit. Dedicated to Saint-Germain-le-Scot, who evangelized the Cotentin during the 5th century, it is the only witness of the old village of Barneville-Carteret, today totally covered by sand. During your excursions, thanks to a whole heap of marked paths (such as the GR223), you will also discover the Carteret lighthouse, but also its small cabins painted in white and blue, located along the beach of Barneville, as well as the dunes of Hatainville, the old wash-house of Mère Denis, the port and the beaches of the resort.

The port of Barneville-Carteret is particularly appreciated by boaters. Whether you have a sea legs or not, we can only recommend that you let yourself be tempted by a short sea walk to discover the splendour of the Normandy coastline.
