A renowned ski resort and spa destination, Le Mont-Dore is a popular holiday destination for families. Located in the heart of the Parc Régional des Volcans d'Auvergne, on the northern slope of the Puy de Sancy, Le Mont-Dore offers an ideal setting for relaxing or dynamic stays in the heart of the highest mountains of the Massif Central.
The village of Mont-Dore is located at an altitude of 1050 metres. With its ski resort spread out between 1200 and 1850 metres, Le Mont-Dore will reveal its 41 kilometres of beautiful slopes adapted to all types of skiing. In detail, you will find 32 slopes including 16 green, 9 blue, 6 red and a black slope for experienced skiers. In addition to downhill skiing, you can go sledging, snowshoeing, breathtaking airboarding, cross-country skiing, Nordic walking, free-ride, mountaineering, ice climbing and speed-riding. For moments of fun and sports gliding, head for the snowpark and boardercross of the resort! With the bonus of a slalom course for beginners and the "Ludo'Glyss" area, Le Mont-Dore puts all the chances on its side for the success of your stay.

If the snow is not there and you have young children, go to the stables of the Dordogne for fun pony activities with a good welcome: a huge playground that will let off steam for young and old!

"L'Auberge des Mancelles" (very close to the hamlet of Les Loges) is to be recommended with its regional dishes and its very pleasant terrace at the foot of the mountains.

Very good restaurant "Le Cyrano" in La Bourboule (affordable prices and specialities - very good welcome), the shop "Monsieur Aurélien" in Mont Dore (tea and homemade hot chocolate - very good welcome), the bikers' bar in Mont Dore ("La Licorne") for its delicious mulled wine and good humour.
