Located near Chambéry, in Savoie, Aix-les-Bains is one of the most romantic cities in France. Placed on the shores of Lake Bourget, the largest lake of glacial origin of the country, this destination is very appreciated by the curists. Encircled by the mountains, the town is a gateway to alpine pastures, beech or spruce forests, marshes and green hills. A hike in the vicinity of Aix-les-Bains will give you the opportunity to admire the Mont Blanc, the Ecrins massif and the Natural Park of the Bauges. No less than 140 km of marked mountain bike trails crisscross this natural setting. Those who prefer the air way will not be left out, as this tourist center has many paragliding and hang-gliding clubs.

In winter, cross-country skiing is more common than alpine skiing. A walk in ski or snowshoes is worth the detour. Moreover, the lookout point of Mount Revard and that of Chambotte are among the most popular itineraries of tourists !
