With its bay labelled "Grand Site de France", the Somme invites you first of all to enjoy its coastline. Characterized by these great landscapes, its exceptional fauna and flora, the Bay of the Somme is discovered in a thousand and one ways : on foot, by bicycle, on horseback, by boat and even on board a small steam train. During your walks, you will be able to observe the migratory birds of the park of Marquenterre and the colony of seals of the beach of Hourdel. But also discover the pretty seaside resorts of Cayeux-sur-Mer, Le Crotoy, Quend or Mer-les-Bains where you can practice many activities : sand yachting, kitesurfing, canoeing...
After enjoying the sea air, discover the historic cities of the Somme. In Amiens, stroll through the medieval district of Saint-Leu and admire one of the most beautiful religious buildings in France. Built in the 13th century and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Notre-Dame Cathedral is indeed a true jewel of Gothic architecture. Then go see the hortillonnages, the belfry, the Perret tower and visit the Picardy museum and the house of Jules Verne. In Abbeville, enjoy another masterpiece of Gothic art, the collegiate church of Saint-Vulfran, and discover the city's other historical monuments : the belfry, the theatre, the Bagatelle castle, the Rames manufacture...
