It is in the southwest of Sicily, between Sciacca and Selinunte, that the city of Menfi is located. Thanks to more than 10 kilometres of coastline, Menfi, on the Agrigento coast, is a real little typical Sicilian paradise: with its thick white sand dunes along which runs a magnificent transparent water, Menfi is ideal for swimming and relaxing, with family or friends. From Porto Palo in the west to the beaches of San Marco (on the edge of Sciacca), you will inevitably find the ideal place to put your towel because, unlike the large and busy seaside resorts, Menfi has managed to preserve its authentic charm and its long beaches of fine sand, allowing you to prefer sea baths to crowd baths. The small wild beach of Solette will conquer lovers of postcard landscapes with its golden sand and turquoise sea, just like the superb beach of Casello, located near the Reserve at the mouth of the Bélice River. "Giache Bianche" will surprise you with its sparkling white pebble beach, while the "Lido dei Fiori" beach facing the Sicilian Channel will delight families with its 8 kilometres of warm sand.

In addition to its pleasant waterfront bordered by high palm trees, Menfi has well-designed paths along its coast that will allow you to enjoy the panoramic view of the sea, over more than 90 kilometres of itineraries through its region.

But if the village of Menfi is also known to the general public, it is above all for its agricultural qualities and in particular for its wine production, since more than half of its territory is covered with vines. The municipality proudly displays the colours of its AOC (Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée - obtained in 1995) and produces nearly twenty different wines, including Menfi Chardonnay, Menfi Cabernet Sauvignon, Menfi Nero d'Avola and Menfi Catarratto. To taste it, nothing beats a visit to the local cellars! The main arteries of the city, which are located in Via Della Vittoria and Via Garibaldi, are both dotted with restaurants, bars and other shops where you will have the opportunity to taste these wines, accompanied by traditional Italian "pastas" decorated with seafood, sheep's cheese or vegetables grown in the Menfi region such as artichokes or olives, the other local fruit. Note that in front of the sea, there are also many good addresses, including the Hotel Planeta, renowned for its family cuisine.

As for cultural discoveries, Menfi will surprise you with its important historical capital. The town is located between two exceptional archaeological sites that we warmly recommend you visit: Selinunte (where you will find the magnificent Temple of Hera) and Heraclea Minoa, about forty kilometres away. 20 kilometres away, the thermal baths of Sciacca are worth a visit, as is the small fishing village of Porto Palo, easily accessible from Menfi during bike rides. Don't miss the centre of Menfi, admirable for its extraordinary architecture and its old baroque buildings: the town has a remarkable heritage, especially religious, such as the church of Saint Joseph Chiesa Madre (18th century). As you stroll along, you will certainly come across splendid "palazzi" (palaces), such as the Palazzo Ravidà (18th century, built in a neoclassical style), but also the Palazzo Planetale, and the Castle of Frederick in Piazza Vittorio Veneto, just next to the Palazzo Baronale Pignatelli.

Finally, do not leave without having been able to admire the view of Porto Palo from the 16th century guard tower overlooking the beach, and offers, at sunrise and sunset, an absolutely magnificent view of the blue sea and the amazing colours of the sky.
