Explore Slovenia
A small country in Central Europe, Slovenia is full of natural beauties and cultural curiosities. Between the Mediterranean, Alps, Pannonian plain and Karst, its landscapes will enchant you and will make you want to practice many activities.
The small coastline of Slovenia, which stretches for 46 kilometers, concentrates all the riches of the Mediterranean. Between vineyards, olive and salt, it hosts resorts of dreams. Discover, for example, Portoroz, which has always been known for the quality of its waters and its thermal establishments, or Piran, one of the most beautiful Slovenian cities with its fortifications and its narrow medieval streets. A little further north, Izola, a former fishing harbor, is an ideal place for many water sports activities thanks to its marina and yachting center, and Koper, the largest coastal town, combines the pleasures of the sea and cultural discoveries (Praetorian palace, cathedral, tower, regional museum...).
After long hours on the Mediterranean, visit the capital of Slovenia. Green and welcoming city, Ljubljana seduced by its friendliness and its air of "small town". While walking, you can admire the castle which dominates the city, the bridge of the Dragons, the cathedral Saint-Nicolas, the park Tivoli, the triple bridge... In the north-east of the country, then discover the second city of the country, Maribor. Famous for its wine business, this beautiful city has a lovely 12th century Gothic cathedral, a superb 15th century castle and, in its historic center, the oldest vineyard in the world (over 400 years old), hanging on the ancient walls of city enclosure.
Land of greenery, lakes, rivers and waterfalls, Slovenia also invites you to indulge in many hobbies. In the Triglav National Park, take the many trails that cross the alpine region and discover the paradisiacal resorts that border it : Bled, Bohinjska Bistrica. Around Bovec, discover the 400 kilometers of bike paths and mountain biking that cross a dazzling nature. But also rafting and canoeing in the Soča Valley, riding near Lipica and Ljutomer, golf in one of the 13 courses in the country (Ptuj, Olimje, Moravske Toplice...). And, after an active day, sample Slovenian culinary specialties : jota, njoki, zlikrofi, bujta, frika, polenta, meats, potica, gibanica cake...
