Conil de la Frontera, a former fishing port converted to family tourism, has 14 kilometres of beautiful, long beaches nestled between the ocean and the pine forest. Its white village built around its Torre de Guzman is crossed by narrow streets where rise beautiful houses painted with lime. Walk to Santa Catalina square, the historical centre of Conil, to admire its church of the same name, imposing and renovated as a cultural centre. Walk through the streets of the city to meet its galleries, shops of craftsmen and potters, but above all to discover its medieval fortifications like the "Puerta de la Villa", one of the four gates that once allowed you to enter the village. If Conil is one of the most beautiful villages in Andalusia, it is certainly one of those where we also eat best. Ancient fishing village, it is quite naturally that its gastronomy is based on fish dishes cooked in a thousand and one ways. The city organizes every year the "Rut adel Atun", understand the "Tuna Route". The ideal way to discover the beauty of western Andalusia is to opt for walks or cycling around Conil de la Frontera, from the port of Conil to the village via its coastal paths which offer the most courageous breathtaking panoramas over the ocean, and the white village tinged with bright colours when the sun sets. The most sporty can also go to El Palmar, Tarifa (for its surf spots) or Cape Trafalgar, about fifteen kilometers south of Conil.
