The Spanish province of Las Palmas encompasses the Eastern Canary Islands of Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote as well as a few minor isles. With a subtropical climate and year round sunshine it's a great destination. The watersports opportunities here are excellent with activities such as scuba diving and surfing on offer. Due to their unusually varied landscapes the islands have many different microclimates and have been designated as biosphere reserves by UNESCO. There are various sites to see one each island including several museums and theatres. The province although typically Spanish, also has African, Chinese and Indian influences.
