The province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife is made up of the 4 Western Canary Islands of Tenerife, La Gomera, El Hierro and La Palma. Characterised by beautiful beaches and lush vegetation the islands make a great holiday destination. The province includes three stunning national parks: Caldera de Taburiente on La Palma, Garajonay on La Gomera and Teide national park on Tenerife which is home to the inactive Teide volcanoe which, at 3718 metres is the highest mountain in Spain. As well as it's beautiful scenery the province also has some delicious local food such as papas arrugadas, a variation of a baked potatoe and mojos which are selection of spicy sauces. Naturally being surrounded by the ocean the seafood here is also excellent.
