It is in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region that the town of Dompierre-sur-Besbre is located. Bordered by the Loire River to the east, which separates it from the department of Saône-et-Loire, Dompierre-sur-Besbre is crossed by one of its tributaries which will give it its name, the Besbre. Dompierre-sur-Besbre is a very old town, and it was during the 12th century that it took off right on the edge of the natural region of the Sologne bourbonnaise, dotted with ponds and streams. Both commercial and agricultural, this stronghold ideally located between the Massif Central and Burgundy is best known for the absolute splendor of its views. Rich in a magnificent natural heritage, it is much appreciated by those who love green tourism and who, equipped with their bikes and trainers, set off to discover its most beautiful landscapes.
