Halfway between Rodez and Villefranche-de-Rouergue, the small village of Rignac will delight holidaymakers looking for a quiet stay. A green destination, it has all the assets to make you have a good time under the sun, with cultural discoveries and outdoor activities.

Watered by the Aveyron the brook of La Peyre which takes its source at the castle of Mordesson, the village of Rignac is located in the heart of the department of Aveyron. A particularly pleasant flowery village, Rignac multiplies the green spaces, for beautiful country and bucolic walks. The commune is crossed by several hiking routes, perfect to discover the hills of the Rignacois region: the 8 km long "Les Landes" trail is accessible to all walkers, but also to mountain bikers and riders, as well as the "Le Buenne" circuit (15 km), the "Chemin de la Résistance" (16 km), the Maymac Wetland or the botanical trail (5.5 km) which will give you an overview of Rignac and its surroundings as far as the Aveyron gorges. The Rignac area also has many castles to visit, often ideally located along the banks of rivers. Château du Colombier, Château de Belcastel or Château de Garinie are particularly recommended for family visits! As for Lake de la Peyrade, it will satisfy amateur fishermen thanks to its fish-bearing waters: you can fish for dowels, roaches and trout, just like in the Aveyron.

A stay in Rignac is also the perfect opportunity to discover the wonders of the Causses du Quercy Regional Natural Park. Saint-Cirq-Lapopie is worth the trip: with its beautiful medieval village with its undeniable charm and its nautical base on the Lot allowing the practice of a whole host of activities (rafting, canyoning, kayaking, canoeing...), it is a choice destination for a stopover in the neighbouring Lot. Cahors and its southern atmosphere, Cabrerets on the banks of the Célé, Rocamadour the historic city (80 kilometres away), Padirac and its abyss, Villefranche-de-Rouergue and its famous and imposing Chapelle des Pénitents Noirs, but also Salles-la-Source and its breathtaking waterfall, or Najac and its magnificent castle overlooking the Verdon Valley, are all essential sites that you will have the opportunity to visit during your stay in Rignac. Finally, a holiday in Rignac would not be perfect without taking the time to taste the delights of local flavours. Aveyron is known for its gourmet restaurants, and Rignac lives up to its reputation. But then, what to eat? Farçous (meatballs made from chard, sausage meat and onion), Ruthenian sautéed chicken, cheese soup, tripous, estofinado (fish-based), aligot with a good slice of delicacies (country bread), Segala calf sweetbreads, anise-flavoured shallots or even spit cake, as beautiful as it is good, which will be perfect for the whole family.
