South-east of Avignon, and 14 kilometres from the heart of the famous City of the Popes, Noves sees its origins dating back to ancient times, since the first human occupation of the town would date back to the 5th century BC, when the hill of Puech was occupied by the Celto-Ligurian tribe of the Cavares. Widely developed from the 10th century and then during the 14th century at the instigation of the Popes of Avignon, the town has a large number of absolutely splendid monuments from this period that you can discover at your leisure during your stay.
