Close to Auvergne and Périgord, the Corrèze is a rare destination where wild nature and medieval villages provide an immediate sensation of change of scenery. Between the gorges of the Dordogne, Causse, plateau of Millevaches but also treasures patrimoniaux and gourmet, the department offers you many opportunities to marvel you.

A territory with a strong rural component, the Corrèze is structured around two large cities with a rich past. Tulle, the prefecture, seduces by its historic center which is home to many monuments. You can admire the Notre-Dame Cathedral, built in the 12th century, its magnificent cloister and a multitude of old houses such as the Maison Loyac with its two turrets on the façade. Brive-la-Gaillarde, the most populous city of the department, also has an impressive historic heart. You will be able to appreciate the collegiate church Saint-Martin, built from the 11th century, the chapel Saint-Liberal, the tower of the Aevrevins...

Then, discover the superb natural sites and the sumptuous villages of Corrèze. In the north of the department, explore the Millevaches natural park and its amazing diversity of environments : peat bogs, hardwood and softwood forests, heaths, meadows... In the south of the park, near Neuvic, immerse yourself in the beautiful scenery of the gorges of Dordogne and, close by, see the Organs of Bort, prodigious basaltic flows surmounted by a plateau that offers a panoramic view on the chain of Monts Dore. Then follow the course of the Dordogne to admire the villages of Argentat and Beaulieu sur Dordogne which are part of the most beautiful detours of France.

Many other magical places deserve your attention as, for example, the five most beautiful villages of France that counts the Corrèze : Collonges-la-Rouge, Curemonte, Saint-Robert, Ségur-le-Chateau and Turenne. To discover them, take the 1000 kilometers of footpaths, the 1000 km of circuits MTB or the numerous equestrian loops of the department. But you can also admire them from the sky aboard a ULM, a hot-air balloon, paragliding or over the water aboard a gabare or a canoe-kayak. During your excursions, treat yourself to a few gourmet breaks to savor the local gastronomy : farcidure, stuffed ceps, tourtous, chanterelles, trout, pike, corrézienne pavement, flaugnarde, clafoutis...
