History, charming heritage, beautiful slates, Donzenac has everything to please who dreams of authenticity! In the department of Corrèze, in the region of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, this little nugget unknown to the general public is the ideal place to stay if you are looking for tranquility!

Only 15 minutes from Brive-la-Gaillarde, the medieval city of Donzenac overlooks the Corrèze countryside from its promontory. Captivating and fascinating, this renowned town has many secrets to deliver to the lovers of history and old stones. The high city of Donzenac is hung on a hillside, on a broad piton which dominates the Maumont. What makes its charm, it is above all its unique architecture, made of beautiful very old dwellings, all covered with slates in the gray-blue tones, resulting from the slate quarries of Travassac. Also, not to miss anything of its beauty, take time to visit Donzenac on foot! You will discover there splendid fortified doors, particularly that of Tilleul, formerly named Maleguise. The half-timbered houses, the house of the XIIIth century of the street of Puy Broch, the convent of the Cordeliers, or the old ramparts which enclosed Donzenac formerly count among its most beautiful treasures. But it is not all! Don't miss to discover the church Saint-Martin dated from the XIIIth century, which is worth the detour for its old enamelled shrine and its gothic style bell tower, or to make a detour to the castle of the barons of Donzenac. Built on the highest point of the oldest district of Donzenac, it is one of its most outstanding buildings! And how not to evoke the chapel of the White Penitents, built on the vestiges of the room of weapons of an old castle in the XVIIe century...
