20 minutes north of Porto-Vecchio, and just 5 small kilometres from Saint Lucia, Conca is one of those Corsican villages that nobody forgets. A paradise for hiking and swimming in dreamy waters, Conca, the arrival point for the GR20 hikers, is becoming more and more popular every year.

Reputed to be home to some of the most beautiful beaches in all of Corsica, Conca, clinging to its mountains, is one of those little edens of tranquillity that you would like to keep secret forever. Nestled in the heart of a wooded shell-shaped valley, Conca is above all known for its many, very many, hiking trails. While there is of course a whole arsenal of quiet itineraries to discover the village and its nearby seaside resorts with the whole family, other, more sporty trails will take you straight into the heart of the surrounding mountains and forests (such as those of Vittoli and Albarello), allowing you to discover natural sites of bewitching beauty, such as the famous Aiguilles de Bavella, the Piscia di Ghjaddu waterfall (in the south-west of the commune), or the emblematic Polischellu waterfalls where walkers like to bathe after long hours of walking. The paths of the GR20 will allow you to discover all the magnificence of the preserved nature that surrounds the commune: criss-crossing the foothills of the first reliefs of the surrounding mountains with breathtaking panoramas over the bay of Porto-Vecchio to finally cross almost the entire island from north to south (180 kilometres long), the GR20 (which ends its course at Conca) is a must for any holidaymaker passing through the Isle of Beauty.

In addition to being frequented by hikers, Conca is also popular with lovers of fine sandy beaches and postcard panoramas. Situated between the beaches of Lecci in the south and Sari-Solenzara in the north, the beaches of Conca seem to be straight out of a travel agency brochure: clear sand, turquoise water and green mountains nearby, this is in a few words what awaits you if you set your heart on the beaches of Conca. Far from the crowds you can find on the beaches of its neighbour Porto-Vecchio, the beaches of Conca are pleasant, and it is easy to find a place to plant your parasol. Tarco beach, the very quiet beach of Figa and Favone beach will be perfect for your family afternoons in the sun.
