Thousands of rocks, dreamy beaches, turquoise water to die for, with the blue of the sky as a backdrop to mountains with dense vegetation... Open your eyes, you are not dreaming: here you are in Corsica, in Pianottoli-Caldarello! A small paradise on earth, Pianottoli-Caldarello definitely has everything to please. Quiet village of Corsica of the South, for a long time shelter of shepherds during the transhumance, Pianottoli-Caldarello takes place in the west of the marvellous bay of Figari, on the road of Sartene. Located in the heart of one of the most wine-producing regions of the whole of the Isle of Beauty, the village turns the heads of its lucky visitors thanks to the sumptuousness of its scenery. The typical architecture of the village takes you back to the history of the traditional villages of southern Corsica, thanks to its troglodytic dwellings made of granite, organized around caves that once served as housing for the inhabitants. Take the time to stroll around its small marina, on the protected site of Saint-Jean studded with archaeological remains from the Roman era, or in the area of the Genoese tower of Figari, a tower pierced with loopholes that offers a splendid panorama of the west coast of the Bay of Figari from its promontory. The parish church of the Annunciation is worth a visit for its 31 square metre fresco and its statues of the Virgin and the angel Gabriel.

Dominated by the Omu di Cagna point, visible from Sardinia, Pianottoli-Caldarello is a veritable paradise for hiking. The municipality is home to the Bruzzi Nature Reserve, which you can discover on sea trips, but Pianottoli-Caldarello is also known for its many hiking trails. Along its 8 kilometres of coastline dotted with strangely shaped rocks, or via the itineraries that run towards the Corsican summits such as the Montagne de Cagna, you will be able to enjoy breathtaking panoramas of the mountains, forests and intimate coves that make Corsica a true nature paradise.

On the coastline, in Pianottoli-Caldarello, it is happiness for those who love calm and turquoise water. In the gulf of Figari and Pianottoli, you will find superb quiet and isolated creeks, very little frequented because accessible by paths which go through the maquis, fabulous postcards of your holidays on the Island of Beauty.
