The church of Saint-Sylvestre de Prats-de-Carlux, that is its name, is recognizable among thousands thanks to its large recessed door, and its square tower pierced with arches in the heart of which are the church bells. The Château de Sirey is also worth seeing: dating from the 15th and 16th centuries, this splendid building is worth a visit for its architecture, emblematic of the region, squat and massive.

But what makes Prats-de-Carlux such a pleasant, atypical place is that the village is at the crossroads of many magnificent sites that you can discover easily, on foot, by bike or by car. The Zoological Reserve of Calviac is a magnificent detour to make with the family, perfect for discovering rare species of animals from all over the world. Just north of Prats-de-Carlux, Eyrignac is worth a visit for the splendour of its town, and its stunning gardens. Considered the green jewel of the Périgord Noir, this charming village is a must-see for those who dream of discovering the elegant Dordogne. Sarlat-la-Canéda, 10 kilometres west of Prats-de-Carlux, is worth a visit for its marked and striking heritage, for its old medieval streets and for its gastronomy. There are many restaurants here and you are bound to find the perfect little terrace for a gourmet break in the sunshine. On the menu of this gourmet escapade in Perigord ? Goose or duck foie gras, black truffle omelette, rack of lamb, cep pasta, Périgord walnut tarts and cakes, Sarlatan potatoes, cabécou with a glass of Bergerac wine, strawberry tarts... Very good meal at the farm-inn "La Garrigue Haute" (located not far from the campsite, you can even walk there), as well as at "La Halle" in Carlux.
