Port of the end of the world, at the very end of the Pays d'Iroise, Le Conquet is one of the main ports of Finistère. A city of character, home to less than 3,000 souls a year, Le Conquet is charm in its purest form, in its raw state. To capture all the charm of this Breton town, there is nothing better than opting for walks or bike rides, the perfect means of locomotion to discover the 850 hectares of the seaside resort. Take the time to wander through the maze of narrow streets that criss-cross the heart of the village, steep alleys that smell of Brittany, decorated with sandstone houses emblematic of the region. On the heritage side, Le Conquet is not lacking in interesting sites to visit, such as the neo-gothic-style Sainte-Croix church, or the 15th century Lochrist Cross. A must-see? La Maison des Anglais, from the 15th century; also known as the "Petit Château du Conquet", this splendid building located at n°1 rue Aristide-Briand is an old fortified house, easily identifiable thanks to its facade of more than 12 metres high. The historical centre and its interpretation trail will finally allow you to discover the splendour of the 16th and 17th century houses that line the old quays of Drellac'h, lined with numerous outdoor granite staircases.

The fishing port, renowned for its shellfish and noble fish such as turbot, monkfish and skate, is also the ideal place to stroll. The Maison fortifiée des Seigneurs overlooks the boats moored there from its high corbelled turret, boats that offer visitors a great show when at the end of the day they return to the port with crates full of shellfish and crabs. After having taken the time to admire the coastal fleet of the Conquest, you can also opt for a boat trip to the nearby islands of Ouessant or Molène. Le Conquet is a singularly pleasant coastal town, ideal for quiet or sporting walks along its coastline dotted with magnificent beaches. One of them, particularly famous, is well worth a visit: the Blancs Sablons beach, as it is called, offers more than 2.5 kilometres of absolutely splendid clear sand to contemplate. Exposed to the winds, it is a surfing and kitesurfing spot recognized in the region, but also a place for swimming and fishing on foot, appreciated by onlookers who can pick up mussels, periwinkles and abalones there. Situated in a Natura 2000 listed area, it also offers an absolutely crazy panorama of the Kermorvan lighthouse just opposite.

The Kermorvan lighthouse is a wonderful spot for photographers; at sunset, it is not uncommon to observe breathtaking panoramas, when the sky is tinged with magical colours, and when dolphins play in the open sea behind the lighthouse for a perfect postcard of what we love in Brittany! The Pointe Saint-Mathieu and its lighthouse, the Petit Minou lighthouse and the Brest harbour 25 kilometres away will finally complete your discovery of the area!
