It is in the department of Finistère, a few kilometers north of Le Conquet, that the seaside resort of Porspoder is located. An old village of more than 1800 souls all year round, this commune of the country of Léon is located a few steps away from the Pointe de Corse which marks the limit between the Channel and the Atlantic Ocean. A destination with a very ancient history, Porspoder has been famous since the 5th century thanks to its parish, before becoming an independent commune during the French Revolution. Attached to Larret, one of the smallest communes in France, Porspoder reveals a charming historical heritage that we strongly recommend you to discover. What to see? The 16th century church of Saint-Budoc, easily identifiable by its massive bell tower, but also the chapel of Saint-Anne, the church of Saint-Léonor de Larret, my 16th century chapel of Saint-Ourzal, and the old powder magazine of Port de Melon. The crosses and calvaries are numerous in the area, as are the fountains, the wealthy houses such as the Manoir de Kermenou, and the traditional wash houses such as the wash house of Porspodirou, the one in the rue du Spernoc, the one in Cosquer and many others. Note also the presence of many megaliths that line the territory of Porspoder, such as the Menhirs of Mesdoun as well as the dolmen and the menhir of Kerivoret.

But what undoubtedly makes the heart of the visitors of Porspoder capsize, it is the sea. The maritime heritage of the commune is vast, and will not fail to give some ideas of adventures at sea to the budding sailors. What to see? The previously mentioned Melon Island, a small uninhabited island full of megaliths that was once used for granite extraction, or the small traditional port of Porz Mazou. With its ancestral moorings on wooden piles dating back to the Middle Ages, it is one of the emblematic sites of Porspoder! Take also the time to stroll on the Saint-Laurent peninsula : linked to Porspoder by an isthmus, this superb peninsula is worth the detour in particular for the viewpoints it offers on the Four lighthouse, a "Hell" located in the middle of the sea, adored and immortalized many times by photographers during storms, whose fire visible up to 30 kilometers away guides passing sailors in its channel. Pass by the point of Garchine, follow the GR34 and discover from the point of Gard'Sing a crazy panorama on the open sea, with a breathtaking view on 14 lighthouses. Also, with more than 8 kilometers of beaches along the coast and on both sides of the isthmus, you will be spoiled for choice when it comes to putting down your towel! Relaxation under the sun, gourmet picnics with your feet in the water, swimming and water sports activities will punctuate your stay in Brittany.
