Ideally located between Quimper and Concarneau, Saint-Yvi concentrates all the best that Brittany has to offer. Nature, culture, traditions, everything here blends together to form a perfect cocktail that will delight the whole family, and this, only a few miles from the ocean beaches.

It is in the heart of the hilly countryside of the department of Finistère that the commune of Saint-Yvi is located. Neighbouring Rosporden and La Forêt-Fouesnant, Saint-Yvi is ideally located for a perfect holiday in Brittany. Inland, 10 minutes by car from the most beautiful beaches of the coast (or 20 minutes by bike, depending on your wishes!), Saint-Yvi is a small concentrate of nature, with a dense vegetation, which offers hikers and bikers many marked routes to discover. All in all, there are more than 45 kilometres of marked paths (half of which are labelled Pays touristique des Portes de Cornouaille) which criss-cross the Vallée du Jet, the Bois de Pleuven and the surroundings of Saint-Yvi, such as the Voie Verte linking Roscoff to Concarneau. Crossing the village, this greenway invites athletes and onlookers to take a break near the Chapel of Locmaria-an-Hent. Built during the 15th and 16th centuries on the edge of the Tro-Breiz (Tour of Brittany), this magnificent chapel, also called the Notre-Dame-de-la-Source chapel, is listed thanks to its authentic decorations, paintings, bas-reliefs, mouldings and gilding, which make it undoubtedly one of the most beautiful chapels in the area. Not far from it, you can admire the beauty of the Toulgoat manor, a private property whose monumental porch has proudly guarded the entrance since 1545. Our advice? After having taken the time to walk around the old town to discover its twisted calvary, its old houses and its charming squares, head for the place called "Là-Haut", a viewpoint perched at an altitude of 168 metres from which you can contemplate a crazy panorama of the coast, Quimper, but also the Glénan islands on a clear day, as well as the Bay of Concarneau and its famous walled city.

The other major advantage of Saint-Yvi, in addition to its incredible charm and its splendid heritage, is that it is only fifteen minutes away from the heart of Concarneau and Quimper. What to do in Concarneau? Visit the Ville Close while eating kouign-amann, enjoy its beaches, and its cruises to the Glénan archipelago, the Caribbean "made-in BZH"! What to do in Quimper? Take the time to stroll through its old districts studded with colourful timber-framed houses, opt for a gourmet lunch on a terrace (Breton cakes, traditional dishes or vegan burgers, there's something for everyone!), and don't miss a visit to the famous Earthenware Museum, emblematic of local know-how! Finally, if you are visiting Saint-Yvi for a holiday, it is impossible not to spend a few hours on the fine sandy beaches of its neighbouring seaside resorts. In La Forêt-Fouesnant, Fouesnant, Concarneau or Bénodet, the beaches are all more beautiful than the others and will be perfect for relaxing under the sun, but also for picnicking with the family and for practicing a whole range of water sports, from sailing to surfing, including paddling and jet-skiing.
