Lake, ocean, gourmet gastronomy and outdoor activities make Maubuisson a perfect destination for dynamic stays under the sun of the Gironde, 1 hour from Bordeaux.

A tourist resort created in the 1960s, Maubuisson is attached to the commune of Carcans. On the banks of the lake of Hourtin-Carcans, this dynamic district concentrates all the agitation of the town of Carcans during the summer period. Bordered by two kilometres of lakeside beaches, this "Kids" resort is above all appreciated by families, who come here in large numbers on sunny days. To make the most of your stay, there is one activity that we particularly recommend: hiking. Here, there are numerous walking trails, itineraries that will allow you to set off on an adventure to discover the landscapes that Maubuisson and the neighbouring towns have to offer. On the side of the lake, there is an equipped trail, rather wild, which will allow you to discover the contours of the lake; in the shade of the pine trees that surround the lake, in a calm and cool environment, family games and picnic breaks will be available. Another particularly recommended itinerary, the "Land'Art" trail is worth the detour: in the heart of the vegetation, you will discover a strange and colourful forest of pencils, but also an ephemeral library, and many other original creations which, in addition to pleasing the youngest, are particularly "instagrammable". Whether you are on foot or by bike, cycle tracks and walking routes will lead you through the clear sand dunes, woods and wild marshes, which make this corner of the Gironde one of the most appreciated by lovers of green holidays. All in all, in this area there are more than 120 kilometres of cycle paths waiting for you, just for you!

After these sporty visits, neither one nor two, plunge straight into the lake for a refreshing break! On the warm sand of Maubuisson beach, volleyball games and sandcastle contests are legion! Supervised in the summer, swimming remains the queen activity on the lake, although water sports aficionados will be able to enjoy a whole range of activities such as sailing, kitesurfing, paddling, dinghy sailing or even opt for a short boat trip on the calm waters of the lake. And if after all this you are still hungry for adventure and discovery, you can, still from the lake, enjoy the pleasures of climbing, horse riding, tennis, mini-golf, tree climbing, or, if your heart is set on it, discover the unforgettable sensations of a skydiving jump!

Finally, the ocean beaches of Carcans will complete your stay. Very famous with families and sports enthusiasts alike, they are ideal for sunbathing, swimming, eating with your feet in the water, but also for a myriad of water sports activities.
