In the southwest of the island of Grande-Terre, facing the Désirade, the seaside resort of Saint-François is one of the largest tourist centres in Guadeloupe. Eden for lovers of heavenly beaches and turquoise water, this is the ideal destination for a sunny holiday.

35 kilometres of golden beaches, water with a thousand shades of blue and sunshine all year round: Saint-François definitely has everything to please. Known for its stretches of fine sand, which are among the most exceptional in Guadeloupe, the seaside resort has enough to make people envious. With temperatures between 26°C (in September-October) and 30°C (in February-March), Saint-François can be visited in both winter and summer.

Its lagoon is the perfect place to relax in the sun, while sipping a refreshing cocktail. As for the beaches, you will have only a few choices: the beaches of Les Raisins Clairs, Anse Kahouanne and Anse à la Gourde are among the most magnificent. The first, located at the entrance to Saint-François, is the best known of them. Long and truly dazzling by the clarity of its water, this beach dotted with grape trees offers beautiful little shaded areas perfect for idleness. A surf spot appreciated by skiers and snowboarders, the beach of Les Raisins Clairs will delight you with its beautiful views of the Saintes and Marie-Galante offshore. On the road to Pointe-des-Châteaux, the beach at Anse Kahouanne is also a dream beach. White sand, clear water and very few people even in summer... Enough to make more than one dream! Here, we like to gather for picnics, volleyball games, or snorkeling initiation. Not far from there, the beach of Anse à la Gourde faces the island of Désirade; a spot for surfing, diving and paddle, this paradisiacal lagoon is a real invitation to rest. If you go there, don't forget your masks and snorkels to observe the many fish swimming around its coral reefs. The beach of La Coulée and its shaded coastal paths, that of Anse Loquet and its wild vegetation, the beach of Grande Saline and its kitesurfing spot, that of La Douche and its famous waves that come to hit the rocks, the beach Champagne and its palm trees straight out of the most beautiful postcards, or the green beach of Anse à la Barque are also worth a visit.

What to do in addition to sunbathing during your holidays in Saint-François? Kayaking, windsurfing, jet-skiing, going to the Casino, playing golf in the only golf course in Guadeloupe, hiking along the entire coastline to Baie Degrat and Pointe des Colibris, strolling in the marina and its old port, going fishing, or taking a boat to discover the Désirade and its colourful chapels.
