Ideally located just under the D151 road which will allow you to join Cateri and Ile-Rousse through Corbara and Pigna, Aregno is one of these small emblematic villages of the Corsican territory. In Haute-Corse, in the natural region of Balagne, the village of Aregno also has two hamlets, Praoli and Torre, which from their promontories dominate a vast agricultural plain that extends poetically to the sea. Here, the landscape is shaped by citrus and almond orchards, and the town was known for the quality of its delicious oranges! At the time of the blessing of the oranges, in January, you will be able to taste succulent oranges of the "Aregno citrus sinensis osbeck" variety, perfect for eating as a dessert or pressed for breakfast! Aregno is a traditional territory with a very beautiful heritage, and in particular a marked religious heritage, with for star the church of the Trinity: true emblem of the city, jewel of the Romanesque art, this polychrome granite church classified as Historic Monument since 1883 is worth the detour as much for its external architecture as for its murals of 1449 representing in particular Michel slaying the dragon In the heart of the village, the church of Saint-Antoine Abbé is also an unmissable stop, built in a baroque style and easily identifiable thanks to its pink and white facade, its sculpted doors and its high ochre bell tower with three floors of arcades. During your walks, you will also discover the remains of the San Quilicu chapel, a Romanesque building from the 10th century, and you will discover the soul of this old traditional village, made of ochre colored houses with orange tile roofs, where the climbing and paved streets are studded with charming houses, poetic arcades and staircases with a crazy cachet.

Dynamic, Aregno organizes numerous celebrations throughout the year (such as patronal feasts, processions, an almond fair...), but above all it knows how to seduce with its uncommon natural setting.
