A unique destination, Monticello is one of those corners of Corsica that one never forgets. Its preserved charm, its picturesque soul and its panoramas wide open on the sea make it a must to discover, for those who dream of vacations under the sun of the Isle of Beauty.

Sunshine... As if it was raining! This is what Monticello inspires. Bathed in light, this village of Haute-Corse is located just next to Ile-Rousse, at an altitude of nearly 300 meters. Straddling the Balagne coastline and the Regino valley, Monticello is definitely worthy of the most beautiful Corsican postcards. Just imagine: beautiful houses in warm tones with orange roofs, surrounded by abundant vegetation and with the blue of the Mediterranean as a backdrop... There are worse places to spend your vacations, aren't there? Moreover, like those small villages that we love so much, Monticello has a remarkable heritage, which from its old stones transmits from generation to generation its captivating history. What to see? The Tower of Seleccia to begin with: Genoese tower built in 1570, only the ruins remain today, overlooking the sea, west of the cove of Seleccia. The church of Saint-François-Xavier is worth seeing for its chapel and its classified dome, as well as the church of San Sebastianu, nestled in the heart of the village, known for housing the painting of the Martyr of Saint Sebastian. The Chapel of the Brotherhood of San Carlo Borromeo and its organ, and the ancient church of San Quilico will complete the picture of the religious monuments to be discovered during your stay in Monticello.

In addition to a marked architectural heritage, Monticello is famous for its natural heritage. Also, while walking through the town and its valleys, you will discover the magnificent park of Seleccia which extends over more than 7 hectares on the seaside, full of plants of the maquis, fragrant and flowery! Pass by the Reginu valley and the gulf of Ile-Rousse, and the olive groves of the Balagne hills, for beautiful walks through the abundant Corsican nature.

But the local star is obviously the sea! Ah, and how beautiful they are, the beaches of Monticello... The coast, studded with surprising pink rocks, reveals small intimate creeks ideal for swimming. The water is turquoise, amazing, transparent, absolutely perfect for observing fish and the sea bed! From the creeks of Cala d'Olive to those of Seleccia, up to the beach of Lozari, passing by the beaches of Ile-Rousse where the practice of nautical activities is highly recommended, impossible, yes impossible not to fall under the charm of Corsica.
