In the Haute-Savoie department, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, Doussard is located on the southern shore of Lake Annecy. Although located very close to Annecy, Doussard is a little less touristic, more green, perfect to disconnect and this, whatever the time of the year you choose to stay there. In the foothills of the Villard mountain, in the Tournette massif, Doussard has many small hamlets with incredible charm, which are worth a visit on foot or by bike! On the side of the Charbon mountain, in the direction of Chevaline, the places known as Les Vignes or the hamlet of Arnand are not to be missed, just like those of Marceau, Bout-du-Lac, Ravoire and Bredannaz on the side of the Taillefer mountain.

If the origins of Doussard go back to the Neolithic period, the commune reveals nowadays a charming architectural heritage, emblematic of the mountains of Haute-Savoie, with beautiful dwellings, fortified houses (such as the Blain fortified house and the ruins of the Beauvivier fortified house), bridges (the Bridge over the Eau Morte), chapels and superb churches, like the elegant Saint-Maurice church of Doussard, recognizable by its incredible neoclassical style.

Integrated into the Regional Natural Park of the Massif des Bauges, the commune of Doussard is intimately linked to water, thanks to its three rivers, the Bornette, the Eau Morte and the Ire, which feed Lake Annecy. Our advice? Stop by the Nature Reserve of the End of the Lake, a small corner of paradise from which you can discover a path that will lead you to the beach of Doussard! A short walk that will allow you to discover incredible panoramas on the mountains, but also on the lake and its preserved nature!
