On the shores of Lake Geneva, between Thonon-les-Bains and Geneva, Messery will seduce holidaymakers thanks to the splendour of its natural heritage. Ideally located, it is the perfect place for a city break by the lake or for a relaxing holiday, far from the hustle and bustle of the seaside.

Spread over 3.25 kilometres along the shores of Lake Geneva, Messery is located at an altitude of 456 metres. Nestled in the heart of the Haute-Savoie mountains, this dynamic village has its origins in the Neolithic period, as evidenced by the presence of megaliths on the Pointe and in the Bois de Parteyi. But what undoubtedly marked Messery most is the Roman period: you will find several villas, arranged in lines parallel to the lake. A land of wheat, Messery was once exploited by the Romans for its abundant natural resources; it is even said that Messery would come from the word "missiriacium", understand "harvest".

Elegant above all, Messery is one of those pleasant cities where it is pleasant to stroll. Every hour of the day, it is nice to walk along the shores of Lake Geneva, especially on the site of La Pointe. We recommend that you follow the path along the lake from south to north to the shores of the neighbouring town, Yvoire, which is home to the "Jardin des Cinq Sens" on the shores of the lake. You will embark on a unique sensory walk to discover the 1500 varieties of plants that grow in this playful garden. After this visit, return to Messery to enjoy the calm by the lake. How about a break on Messery Beach? With its large lawn, small gravel and long pontoon, it is the ideal place for a relaxing break under the sun, or to bubble a book by hand on deckchairs. Sportsmen? Lake Geneva is the perfect place to (re)discover water sports! Many activities are offered along its banks, and Messery is no exception to the rule by offering its visitors entertainment for all desires on sunny days. On the agenda? Paddle, pedal boat, sailing, navigation, towed buoys, water skiing, sailing, diving, kayaking, cruises... Not really a fan of activities on the water? What would you say to opt for waterside activities? Pilates and yoga classes will allow you to relax, while enjoying the panorama!

The Messery area is eminently renowned for hiking. Several tours will allow you to discover the most beautiful faces, whether you are a pedestrian or a cyclist. The "Boucle de La Pointe" is particularly recommended: it will offer you splendid views of the lake and the neighbouring town of Nyon, thanks to a route between land and lake. From Corzent beach to Anthy beach, from Nernier to Yvoire, via the trails of Mont Mourex, the Mathieu pond, towards the Grotte aux Loups or the viewpoint of La Maladière, you can contemplate breathtaking panoramas on Lake Geneva and its surroundings.

Finally, it is impossible to stay in Messery without mentioning the gastronomy of Lake Geneva: particularly tasty, it gives pride of place to fish, especially perch. Prepared in a flour mill, grilled or in the oven, it can be eaten in any sauce! A mountainous region, you can also enjoy delicious raclette, fondues, fine platters of cold meats, cabbage sausages, cardoon gratins, succulent pies with prunes... It is likely that all palates will find their happiness there!
