On the shores of the marvellous Lake Annecy, this chic, elegant town, very popular with holidaymakers looking for a holiday combining culture, heritage, sport and nature, is one of those destinations that is hard to forget.

On the eastern shore of Lake Annecy, a dozen kilometres from what some people rightly call the "Venice of the Alps", Talloires-Montmin enjoys a long-standing reputation among travellers. Of capital importance thanks to its abbey, a Benedictine priory which became in turn a royal abbey (in the 17th century) and then a luxury hotel during the 19th century, Talloires-Montmin impresses first of all for the richness of its heritage. In addition to the visit of its timeless abbey, we can only recommend the visit of the hermitage of Saint-Germain-sur-Talloires. Built in 1780 above the eponymous cave, this sacred place, in addition to its architectural beauty, is worth the detour for the breathtaking panoramas that it offers over the entire bay of Talloires and Lake Annecy.

After a brief visit of its historic town, its chapels, its oratories and its 5 ports: the Port of Balmette, the Port of the Americans, the Port of Vivier, the Port of Talloires and the Port de l'Espace Lac, put on your sneakers and set off to discover what makes the splendour of Talloires: its unspoilt nature. Le Roc de Chère is a good idea for a family outing to contemplate Talloires. An immense rocky spur located in front of the lake, it offers, with its 69-hectare Nature Reserve, numerous viewpoints over Lake Annecy, perfect for contemplating its beauty both by day and at sunrise. A large forest massif, this site with its abundant and surprising vegetation is also home to a varied fauna ranging from squirrels to wild boar, including butterflies, amphibians and deer. The Dents de Lanfon (1824 metres), but also the Lanfonnet (1768 metres), the Col de la Forclaz renowned for its breathtaking panoramic view or La Tournette, perched at 2351 metres high, The Cascade d'Angon and the verdant Route Forestière of the Talloires heights (5 kilometres from the Col de Forclaz) are as many peaks and sites present in the commune that we can only recommend that you discover, on foot, by bicycle or even by paragliding, for a stay that marvellously combines the contemplative and the sporty. During the winter, the ski resort of Montmin is without a doubt Talloires-Montmin's major asset. With its small family ski area above all, this sunny resort offers its visitors gentle slopes perfect for learning to ski. Two green runs, two blue runs, one red run and boardercross await the sportsmen and women, when the youngest and the oldest who have kept their childlike spirit will enjoy themselves on the secure tobogganing area.

And the lake: if there's one thing you can't miss during your stay in Talloires-Montmin, it's Lake Annecy. With its water reputed to be the purest in all of Europe, Talloires-Montmin has three beautiful (paying) beaches where you can sunbathe, play volleyball, petanque and swim. You can also opt for scuba diving, sailing, catamaran, water skiing, paddle, kitesurfing or kayaking to discover the splendour of Talloires Bay by arm strength. Via-ferrata, accro-adventure, climbing, mountain biking around the lake, rafting and golf will complete your stay.
