In the Centre-Val de Loire region, Chissay-en-Touraine is ideally located for those who dream of discovering the history of France with a capital H and its marvellous châteaux. On the border with Indre-et-Loire, this elegant commune is bordered on its southern side by the calm meanders of the Cher, and is only 5 kilometres from the Château de Chenonceau, and 25 minutes from the Beauval ZooPark. That is to say that its assets are numerous! But before hitting the road to discover the region's most beautiful treasures, hop on your bike and put on your sneakers for a ride through the heart of Chissay-en-Touraine. A destination of immeasurable charm, Chissay-en-Touraine is set in the heart of a green valley that plunges you into the heart of the most beautiful part of the French countryside in a snap of the fingers. A splendid village, it owes its fame to its castle, a former royal residence transformed today into a luxurious hotel, which has never lost its original beauty. The Château de la Ménaudière, as it is called, is an authentic Loire château as we like them: with its refined architecture and elegant park, it has been the pride of the Chisséens since the 15th century. While strolling through the town of Chissay-en-Touraine, along the Allée des Platanes, its needle dam or in the heart of the town, you can also discover a second Renaissance-style castle, but also an old dovecote, wash houses, old polishers and an old church. In addition, note that in the south of the city, the banks of the Cher are developed to allow you to beautiful walks along the water, on the town or towards the neighboring villages.
