Facing La Turballe and Piriac-sur-Mer, Mesquer is located in the heart of the Loire-Atlantique coast. Not far from Guérande, this land of rest between beaches and salt marshes offers a perfect relaxing environment for outdoor enthusiasts.

Facing the bay of Traict de Pen Bé, Mesquer is well known to holidaymakers for its mussel and oyster farming activity. But what makes the reputation of the seaside resort is certainly its white gold: salt. Exploited since the Middle Ages on Mestres lands, this salt has been awarded the Label Rouge "Sel de Guérande". Take advantage of this stay to visit the Mesquer marshes, in order to know everything about this age-old know-how, from its harvesting to its arrival on your plates. It is likely that this visit will satisfy birdwatchers, who will also be able to observe a large number of bird species (depending on the time of year), from white stilts to herons, not to mention oats and egrets that have made their home in the Quimiac marshes.

There are many hiking trails that you will find during your stay in Mesquer, so it is important to bring good walking shoes in your luggage in order to be able to enjoy the landscapes of the town as much as possible. Cycling is also a good option to discover Mesquer's many horizons: its coastal paths, wild moors and Highland cows (yes yes yes!) are the guarantee of a total change of scenery for fans of fresh air and amazing landscapes, with the sweet air of Scotland or Ireland. From the Pointe de Merquel and its Notre-Dame chapel to the Pointe du Pont de Bois, via those of Le Touru and La Croix or the Port of Kercabellec, you can admire impressive panoramic views of the Baie de Lamballe and the Cabonnais. Quimiac Wood is also worth a visit: with its sumptuous villas from the 1930s, it is one of the most pleasant places to stroll in Mesquer. Magnificent colourful residences that are reminiscent of the elegance of the dwellings of La Baule, a very chic seaside resort located only 15 kilometres further south. By bike, we can only recommend that you take a tour of the Guérande Peninsula, for wonderful walks with breathtaking landscapes at stake!

But Mesquer's greatest asset is its beaches: from the tip of Merquel to the port of Kercabellec, a total of 13 kilometres of sand and intimate coves dot the commune's coastline. Lanséria beach is the busiest on sunny days: supervised and adapted for people with reduced mobility, it is well known by water sports enthusiasts. On the agenda? Sea kayaking, boat trips, water hikes, light sailing, SUP, canoeing, surfing... Something to delight sliding enthusiasts! Less popular, the beach of Le Moulin is worth a visit: calm, isolated and far from the eyes, it allows beautiful relaxing breaks under the sun of the seaside resort. Sorlock beach will delight windsurfers, while those of Le Tourlu, Le Cabonnais and Le Lannguy will delight walkers and photographers, to whom we highly recommend the sunset panoramas!
